Betting Pool
Beckett finds out the Precinct has a betting pool on when she and Castle will get together.
Kate Beckett was having a good day. She walks in to the Precinct and sees Ryan, Esposito and a bunch of other of her colleagues all huddled around Ryan's desk. She goes up to them and notices Ryan is holding a clipboard. They all stop talking when she steps up to them.
"Hey guys what are you doing?"
"We are uh....working on a case." Ryan replies, holding the clipboard close to his chest.
"Oh yeah? What case?"
"The...uh, Smith case"
"Really can I see what you guys have so far?" Beckett asks, reaching for the clipboard.
"No, sorry...." Ryan says turning away from Beckett.
"Excuse me?"
At that moment Castle walks into the precinct and Beckett takes that moment to snach the clipboard out of Ryan's hands. She looks at it and notices at the top were the words: Bets on when Castle and Beckett are going to kiss, go out, and have sex. There were three columes and different dates with names for whoever bet for that date.
"You guys have a betting pool on us?" Beckett says with anger in her voice.
Everyone crowded around her were too scared to talk at the moment.
"How much is it up to now?" she asks.
"Close to $1000" Esposito says.
"Really?" She pulls out her pen and writes something down on the clipboard. She pulls out a five and puts it in the envelope with all of the money. She puts the clipboard down on Ryans desk and turns around.
"Castle!" she barks and Castle comes over from sitting in her chair, again.
She reaches up and pulls Castle's face towards her and kisses him on the lips. At first Castle was surprised, but then he started to kiss back.
"Wow" he says when they pull apart. Beckett turns around, grabs the envelope with all the money in it and says "Thanks guys" Then she smiles and walks away, leaving Castle, Ryan, Esposito, and all the other detectives staring after her in shock.
On the clipboard, right next to today's date was Kate Beckett's initials and how much she bet.
