The Demons We Create
Chapter One
"Pidge you need to get out of there, now!" Shiro's voice was nearly drowned out by the sounds of battle but Pidge understood the order.
"I can't! The file is almost done loading. I only need 12% more!" Pidge yelled back as she typed furiously at the Galra computer.
"Come on, come on...and done!" Pidge screamed victoriously. She slammed her laptop closed and took off towards Shiro and her lion.
Several guns were being fired and Pidge activated her bayard, shielding herself and cutting others down.
Pidge continued in a full out sprint towards Green, pushing through harsh winds and maneuvering around fallen bodies.
"Pidge we have to leave! Where are you?!" Keith's sharp tone came through clear in her comm.
"I'm almost there just-" Katie froze at the sight of a fallen Galra soldier. His helmet had come off at some point and she could see part of his face. Brown eyes and hair, long. And suddenly it wasn't some dead Galra soldier. It was Matt, face down in his own blood.
"No no no no. Not again. Not-" Pidge fell to her knees and threw her arms over her head. Her breathing grew rapidly until she was full blown hyperventilating, unable to breathe.
"PIDGE!" A swirl of color was suddenly beside her but Pidge couldn't see what it was. All she could see was her brother's lifeless eyes and his hair caked in dried blood.
Somewhere something inside her stirred, warned her and begged her to get up, to follow the colors.
She pushed it away, forcing it out of her mind. There was only one thing she could think about right now and it was fierce, consuming every part of her and forcing her to shut down.
My fault. My fault. My fault. My fault.
More colors and suddenly she was moving.
A siren and a jolt and pain flared throughout her entire being.

"-dge?! Pidge?! She's unresponsive! Yes, she's been hit!"

An explosion sounded nearby and a flash of red filled her vision before everything went dark and the siren grew silent.

You guys let's be honest I'm crap at action scenes. I almost didn't post this cause it's trash but I really wanna write more like it so I thought I might as well get feedback. I know it's short- like really short- I just needed a test run. So let me know what you guys all thought with a review and a like. Criticism welcomed.
