Synopsis: It's been five years after the end of Ninja Gaiden 3: Ancient Ship of Doom. Ryu and Irene are married, and Irene wants to "Take stuff to the Next Level"
Author's Notes: Please forgive any/All OOC-ness (which I think means 'Out-Of-Character') this is my first Ninja Gaiden Fan-Fiction.

Chapter 1: Bloodline
The sun was setting, another day finished, rand Ryu Hayabusa found his meditation disturbed for yet another night in a row by the voice of his CIA Agent wife:
"Ryu? Are you ready to come eat?"
Ryu opened his eyes and stared at the stand he had bought for the Dragon Sword after his defeat of Clancy. He still felt awestruck by the fact that the weapon had reappeared to him after his 2nd defeat of the Jaquio and the Demon.
"Ryu?" Irene called again. Ryu turned and smiled at her.
"Forgive me Irene," he said.
She gently caressed his cheek, holding her other hand up and placing her first finger to his lips, making a "Shhh..." sound.
"Robert's coming over," said Irene, "he wants to see us again."
No sooner had Irene finished speaking, there was a knock on the door and a shout of: "Hello? Robert T. Sturgeon reporting for KP Duty!"
The apartment was fitting enough; Kitchen, Bathroom, two bedrooms, (one they used as a guest room for Robert,) and a balcony on the south side. The place was on the top floor of the building, apartment 7C.
"Hey, my two favorite people." Robert chuckled as he entered the room. Irene released Ryu to hug him. Ryu simply shook his hand.
"Good evening Robert." Ryu said simply.
"How goes the relationship?"
"Two years after destroying Clancy, the Castle Rock Fortress, and the Ancient Ship of Doom, and he marries me. Three years after that, he still doesn't listen when I talk about redoing the Guest Room," said Irene, answering Robert's question.
Lately, Irene had been pestering Ryu about turning the second bedroom into a nursery. What is she thinking?
FLASHBACK:
"Ryu, it's been four years already. When will we take it to the next stage?"
Ryu, still getting accustomed to American life, was just looking up a Martial Arts movie.
"I am rather thankful that the Darkness is gone," Ryu said, "but I am not ready for fatherhood."
"You don't know that," Irene said, "you don't know what you can't do until you try."
Ryu scoffed. He'd fought dark creatures from other worlds, robots built for destroying humanity, and the Demon Statue. But when it came to the mundane, he felt rather ridiculous.
FLASHBACK END
"Come on Dragon man," Robert said as they sat down. "Think about your Bloodline, your family."
"If your father were here, he'd want a grandchild himself. Would you want to disappoint him?"
"What would Ken say?" Robert asked.
Ryu scratched his head.
"Father would want the Dragon Lineage to live on..."
"Think about it a while," Robert said. Then, as the movie ended, he took the remote and turned to ESPN to watch a soccer game.
"Thanks for the nice evening," Robert said as he pulled his coat on.
"Won't you stay over?" Irene asked, a slight plead in her tone. "We have the Guest room."
"You will always be welcome in our apartment, my brother." Ryu said, saluting with his left hand, while he shook Robert's hand with his right.
"Thanks," Robert told Ryu, "Maybe next time," he added to Irene, then finished by saying, "got a few more asssignments. After that I might retire and move in here."
He left, and rode away on his motorcycle. Irene hadd meant to ask him when and where he'd gotten it, but she seemed to want to wait until he moved in.
After a relaxing evening of watching romance movies, Ryu and Irene changed into their pajamas and climbed into bed.
"Irene," Ryu whispered. He gently took her hand.
"What is it, Ninja dragon?" Irene asked, emphasizing the title.
"I keep thinking of what you and Robert told me, about... disappointing my father..."
"Shh..." Irene shushed him, gently rocking him. "You feel ready to try?"
"What must I do?" Ryu asked.
