A/N: A prompt on tumblr for lazy morning / domestic bliss

There was that brief instance with eyes still shut, right when sleep began to drift from her body that her consciousness, out of habit, mapped out the general layout of her bedroom; the small bookcase by the foot of her bed, alarm clock to her left, the window to her—wait a minute… Sakura's orientation was made ajar by the warm sun tickling the top of her forehead and she slid her eyes open, startled as she blinked at the walls of Kakashi's apartment and the simpler layout of his bedroom.

Her awareness then became drawn to the heavy arm resting on her waist and with a small smile already ghosting her lips, she turned slowly to observe how impossibly comfortable Kakashi looked, to be sleeping on such a lumpy old bed.

Maybe that was just how his eyes drooped?

Regardless, he remained undisturbed still, even as Sakura traced his nose bridge, his lips, his bare jaw.. it was interesting how much of his masked faced was already mapped out in plain sight for years, but there were still more to him revealed underneath that didn't necessarily involve his physical features.

Kakashi looked plain—plainer than the exaggerated descriptions Ayame had blushingly illustrated. And yet every bit of his character, even the parts that used to annoy her, threatened to redefine Sakura's definition of handsome.

The fluttering in her chest could be so easily mistaken for infatuation, but the warmth that now began to flow through her veins irrevocably spoke of comfort and permanence—what Sakura new as love, these days.

Kakashi stretched languidly, as if knowing that his companion had already been pondering to herself, very much awake."Oww!" Sakura squeaked right as his elbow hit her face, stopping him mid stretch.

"Mmm?" He stared at her blinking with the same mildly startled expression Sakura wore a few minutes ago. "Oh, I'm sorry," he cooed still hazy with sleep as he rubbed her forehead.

"I didn't snore did I?" Kakashi looked concerned as he pulled away for a second to regard her, likely noticing how much more awake she looked.

"You're very quiet, actually," Sakura assured him. "I slept very well."

The faint trace of laugh-lines framing his mouth as he smiled was just one of many Sakura treasured for herself. His lips was another as Kakashi slowly tilted her chin up for a kiss much slower than the heated ones from the night before.
