Hello! so I've been watching Merlin non stop for about a week now and I can't get over how perfect Merlin and Arthur are for each other! This is from Merlins point of view. Enjoy!

Merlin doesn't mind when Arthur calls him an idiot or insults him. He knows Arthur is just kidding and if it really bothered him Arthur would stop immediately.

Merlin doesn't mind when Arthur throws stuff at his head in a fit of rage. Because everyone has bad days right? And besides, Arthur would never actually hurt him, right?

Merlin doesn't mind when Arthur mocks him to his friends. Arthur is only having a bit of fun and Merlin isn't bothered by it anyway. Theres no way Arthur actually means it when he says he wished he had a different servant and Merlin was just getting in the way, right?

Merlin doesn't mind when Arthur forgets his birthday every year. He's the crown prince of Camelot, he can't be expected to remember such trivial things like his manservants birthday, it doesn't matter anyway. Merlin wasn't going to celebrate, it just brings back painful memories about his mothers death.

Merlin doesn't mind when Arthur ignores him for days at a time for no reason. The soon to be King just doesn't have time. Its Merlin who's the problem, he's just expecting too much. Its not like they're friends or anything, Arthur's the prince and Merlin is just a lowly servant boy, theres no reason for Arthur to make time for him.

Merlin doesn't mind when Arthur calls him useless and doesn't think he is strong enough to protect him. Because the truthis no matter what Arthur does, no matter how many times he gets mad at Merlin or however many times Arthur locks him up for trying to protect him, no matter how many times Merlin gets hurt physically or emotionally protecting him, Merlin won't stop. He won't stop trying and hurting until Arthur is safe, because it is his destiny. But its more than that, he loves him. And theres no greater power than love. So even if Arthur insults him or throws things at him, mocks him and forgets his birthday, ignores him or doesn't trust Merlin to protect him. Even if Arthur never knows how he feels about him. Merlin will never stop loving him, protecting him, saving him even if Arthur never knows he does. Merlin will never betray him or abandon him.

Merlin doesn't mind when Arthur falls in love with someone else before his very eyes, and he still doesn't mind when Arthur tells him he's going to ask her to marry him. But if he doesn't mind why is he crying? Because thats what you do when you love someone, you give up everything so that they will be happy, even if its not loving you that makes them happy.

Merlin knows that he'll be there for Arthur on his wedding day because thats what will make Arthur happy. But Merlin knows that his presence there isn't what will make his eyes light up and his perfect smile beam with love and happiness. And that hurts, knowing that Arthur's loving gaze will never be directed towards him. But he will be strong for Arthur, never letting him even guess that his smile isn't real, that his laugh is forced. because all that really mattered was Arthur's happiness, and as long as he was happy Merlin could be content with his life.
