Just Stay Gone

Quistis leaned over the side of the Garden as it flew over the ocean. It had been two days since she had gotten out of the hospital, and her memory was finally coming back to her. She remembered time compression, she remembered going against Ultimacia, and she remembered watching as her friends died before her eyes. Awaking in the hospital she was face to face with the one man that ever mattered. "Seifer." She whispered as she wiped away the tears.
"Where are you going?" Quistis asked as Seifer was walking out of the hospital room. Seifer turned slowly back to her. "I'm going back to Balamb with Fu and Raijin." He whispered. "I'm sorry, I don't belong with you anymore.I'm sorry." As he walked out of Quistis' sight she didn't hide the tears that were falling. A relationship that had been going on since they got to Garden together, had now fallen at her feet.

Bringing herself back to reality she saw they were coming up on the town of Balamb. Standing up taller she grabbed the railing tightly as if afraid to fall. "I just want to see him again." She whispered. "Hey!" Quistis turned around to see Zell. "I just wanted to tell you that they party to celebrate Ultimacia's defeat is tonight. No one else could find ya, and I just had a feeling you were here." Zell had always been a good friend to Quistis, and she loved him for that. "Thank you Zell, I will be there." Turning around she could hear Zell shuffle his feet. "The dock.I'd look at the dock." Then she heard him walk away. Smiling to herself she focused her eyes on the dock.

"SEIFER. GARDEN." Fuijin said pointing out. Seifer stood up and watched as the garden got closer. "LOOK! I CAUGHT I FISH! WHOO-HOO!!!" Fuijin rolled her eyes and kicked Raijin into the water, making Seifer break into a fit of laughter. He stopped suddenly when he saw how close the garden was. He looked up contently as he saw a figure standing on the Quad. "Quistis."

Quistis smiled when she saw Seifer. She couldn't change his mind, but she would always love him. Seifer would always love her, and maybe one day they could be together, but until then Quistis decided that he should just stay gone. Turning on her heel she walked away, leaving Seifer still staring up at her.
