AllelujahXMarie. The title 'Nemuri' means 'sleep'. I know it's unimaginative, but that's the only thing I could think of to personify this fic.

The nightmares never end. The sound of metal clashing on metal, shots being fired, cries of pain, and the haunting howls of those that are three seconds away from death. He had caused all of it at some point. Him, Allelujah Haptism! He who had taken countless lives with his hands. Hands crafted for war and nothing else, a Super Soldier, a Gundum Meiser, a killer, whatever you wanted to call it, the fact is that he had taken lives and he would never forgive himself. He never knew that such hands could be used for something else. Kindness. She had told him that night that his hands were nice, that she liked them. She didn't care when he told her how many lives he had taken, how much blood was on the hands that she so tenderly held. She didn't care about any of it, she just smiled her gentle smile, seeming to forgive him and comfort him at the same time. She told him she loved him, everything about him, from his black-green hair to his feet, that included his hands. He turned in bed, seeking that redeeming smile. The smile that had always, and as she said, will always, forgive him. He smiled when he saw her, so peaceful in her sleep. She had that smile on her lips, something he had wanted to keep forever. He couldn't tell her, he wouldn't ever tell her what he had to go through every night. He wouldn't let that smile disappear.

"Hm? Allelujah?" Her tired voice calls as she stirs. She sits up rubbing her eyes, trying to rid the sleep from them. "What's wrong?" She asks, staring at him with kind, golden eyes. He shakes his head.

"Nothing. I'm sorry I woke you. Go back to sleep, Marie." He states.

"I can't." She whispers. He turns to her, puzzled. "If you're not there, how am I supposed to face the nightmares alone?" she asks. So she had them too. Allelujah looks at her. Her sad, tired eyes. Eyes that had seen things they should never have seen. But, she was also a Super Soldier, just like him. Thinking that reminded him of what he had thought he had done. When he had destroyed the research facility he had feared that she had been in it, but that wasn't the case, something he had been glad he was wrong. He put an arm around her neck, inviting her to lie down with him.

"Let's go to sleep together then." He whispers as she joins him on the pillows.

The two sleep soundly that night, neither having nightmares because the other is right there with them.

I know it sucks, but I wanted to do something with AlleXMarie. Anyway, review and let me know what you think. If you want me to make a chapter fic with these two then let me know via review.
