If asked what he was good at Nathan would be able to reply in a split-second.
"Getting myself hurt."
Whether it was a bruise, fracture or concussion Nathan had had it at some point of his troubled life so it was nothing new to him when he woke up to find Audrey looking down on him in concern. He sighed and sat up.
"Mica got away didn't she." he said.
Audrey nodded. It had been a statement, not a question.
"Are you okay?"
Nathan shrugged.
"I'm fine."
Audrey didn't look convinced but helped him up nonetheless.
"Do you have any idea where she'd go?"
Nathan tried to remember but came up blank.
"No. Nothing rock solid."
Audrey frowned.
"Are you sure you're okay?" she asked, scrutinising his face.
"Parker I am fine." he said before taking a step forward and grabbing onto the table for support.
"You are not fine." said Audrey, rolling her eyes. "Sit."
"Parker – " Nathan protested.
"The sooner you sit down the sooner it'll be over and the sooner we can find Mica." she snapped. Audrey pulled up a chair. Nathan reluctantly sat.
She walked slowly around the chair analysing him. There were no obvious bloody marks or bruises that she could see. Maybe it was a head wound? He had been knocked out after all. She ran a hand gently through his hair. He gave her an amused smile.
"Parker – what are you doing?"
Audrey withdrew her hand. Now she had blood on it.
"Oh great." she muttered. "You are coming with me to the hospital." she announced.
"Parker, do we really have time for this with Mica on the loose?" Nathan pointed out.
"Nathan, you won't be able to catch her if you can't even stand straight. Besides, knowing our luck the hospital will be where she strikes next."
"Fine." he grumbled.
Audrey gave him a look.
"How many times do I have to say this? Just because you can't feel pain doesn't mean you're invincible!"
Despite Audrey's glare Nathan smiled to himself. It was just another ordinary day in Haven.
