She ached, she ached all the time. Whether she was standing or sitting, lying down, or in motion, she ached.
Her bones ached like she never thought they could.
Her ribs ached every time her heart beat and every time she breathed.
Her shoulder ached when she sat down her legs her hurt if she stopped moving for even a second.
Fire burned through her arms when she lay down to go to sleep.
Her neck and skull ached when she sat, probably from the years spent bending her neck over books.
The one thing that hurt the most though was her heart.
Everytime she saw a strand of blonde hair she would break down in tears. A flash of grey, her heart would break. The sight of a snake no longer frightened her, it terrified her. It reminded her of what could've been.
Her body had never stopped aching after she gave birth to their child, Alexander. Alexander had his mother's dark brown eyes and his father's silver-blonde hair. It ached because of the pain it had caused her and it ached because of the feeling she got every time she looked at him. He looked too much like his father. As he grew older his hair grew darker until it was strawberry blonde.
Her heart simply ached. She longed to see him again, to see her Scorpius; her one true love. But he was gone. For years before falling in love with him she had ached.
She'd ached to beat him at everything he did. And she succeeded. That is until they fell in love. The one thing she could never beat him at was his talent at kissing and loving.
She ached to beat him at both of those but now she would never get to.
She ached: her brain, skull, eyes, jaw, neck, shoulders, arms, heart, chest, ribs, stomach, legs, feet, and her soul. She ached all the way into her inner soul.
She believed that even if Dementors did suck out her soul it would still ache because it would be just another thing she'd lost. The Dementors would probably give her her soul back, because it was so damaged with sorrow.
She had lost her family's support when she married him, she had lost their first attempt at a child, their second, third, fourth, and fifth, too. She had lost her grades, her job, her money, and her husband. The only thing she still had left was her son, Alexander, but even he would be gone soon, too.
She ached at the thought of everything she had lost. She missed her mom, dad, and brother, she missed her many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
But most of all she ached when she thought of her school and all that had ever transpired there. The death of one of her uncles, two of the men one of her cousins had been named for, every single of one of her relatives had gone to school there, and that's where she'd fallen in and out of love with the same person so, so many times.
That's where she'd been married, divorced, and where she'd achingly sent her son to.
She ached when she thought that her husband had not been there for his son's first day of school. Her husband had not died, but it would have been better if he did. Little did Rose know...
That he ached, too.
AN: In case you didn't catch their names: It was Rose Weasley/Malfoy and Scorpius Malfoy.
