Title: What is Normal About This Life?
Rating: G
Summary: Meredith Grey reflects on the work she's been doing and the work she's yet to do.
Disclaimer: I do not own Grey's Anatomy

Meredith Grey pulled back the covers and flopped into bed. She didn't seem to have energy for much more than that lately. She rested on her back, looking up at the ceiling. Even though today was what she would consider "just another day," she wasn't sure that she was supposed to feel like she worked at the circus every day. Obviously in Medical School they taught you as much as they could but nothing could prepare you for some of the patients that came in.

Still, to be a surgical intern at SGH was so much better than anything else she could be doing. Especially because what she was doing made her mother proud and at this point, there was nothing more important than that.

Meredith rolled onto her side and looked at the numbers on her alarm clock. Even though they had "grown up," sometimes it felt like they were still in high school. If you kissed someone, everyone knew about it. Even if you didn't tell. One glance, or word could create rumours of favoritism.
