A/N 4.19.13: Cute. But I really don't like it. Plus, I went into it not being insane about the pairing, so it didn't have that little push.
Here's Looking For A Seat?, written in the days of Amanda Katrice Granger...enjoy!

I started this little one-shot here, having no clue where it was going. THEN the realization hit me: Mandy, why don't you do another strange pairing?

And so, here it is. I never really thought of this before, but I realized this could go some places. I've never heard of this pairing on here, but I bet there are many stories with this already.

I guess I could consider this a more of a fluffy-friendship Neville/Hermione (couldn't think of a pairing name), but you and I both know that, for me, fluffy-friendship morphs in fluffy-romance at some point.

So, I give ya'll my first non-cannon pairing that I actually kinda support.

Looking For a Seat?

She had never been in a more crowded place.

Everywhere she looked, people. People, people, people. And the occasional trunk. But only those two things.

And there was no room to breathe, let alone move. She hadn't found her seat yet.

It was her first time in this train, and she expected to be kind of lost. But this was just mad.

Children her age skipped around outside and inside of the Hogwarts Express, singing nonsensical songs and chasing their friends. Older teenagers laughed loudly. But she uncomfortably tried to find her way to a seat, losing hope rapidly because of the grim fact that every single one she saw so far was taken.

The other children seemed so used to the chaos, so un-surprised about the congestion of the area. She didn't understand why they went along with the craziness. All she ever knew was the quietness of her room and the books.

"Oi!"

She suddenly jerked her head around to find a dark-haired boy, with a chocolate frog box in his hand, standing in front of her. She realized that he had been repeating that for quite some time while she was in her own world.

She just stared at him, not knowing what to say.

"You looking for a seat?" he asked.

"Um…uh…yeah," she replied, not sure where he was going with this.

"Me too. There's one here, if you would like," he said, slightly smiling, gesturing to the door next to him. He was spun around by three kids running by him. "Whoa-oh!"

"Oh, you can take it. I'll keep looking for one."

"No, it's fine. I see one up there anyway." He pointed to the back of the train. She could tell the boy was lying.

"Um…thanks," she said. "I appreciate it."

"Oh, no problem." Then he frantically looked down at his chocolate frog box and gasped. "Trevor!"

"What's the matter?" she asked.

"Um…" he said, trying to wipe his worried look away, "it's just my toad. Must've gotten away." He turned to the side. He pointed up. "There!"

A brown frog happily hopped on the ceiling. The boy bit his lip, as if this happened before.

"Oh, that toad," the boy sighed. He ran away, jumping up to try to catch the toad but often realizing the amount of kids around him and stifling the leap.

"And what's your…name…" she trailed off. "Um, I'll help find him!" she called out to the jumping boy.

The boy looked back and waved at her, turning around immediately and reaching up to Trevor but failing again.

She shook her head with a confused look. "This place keeps on getting stranger and stranger…"

She walked ahead, opened the door, and peered inside.

"Has anyone seen a toad?"

*screams* OMG. I LOVE THIS PAIRING. I may need to continue and make this a collection of drabbles/one-shots…Review? Concrit is accepted and appreciated ;)
