Prolog
"How did all this happen?" I asked turning the rose around in my fingers.
"I don't know…" Claire said, playing with hers.
"Where are the others?" She asked looking around for them.
"Off decorating your cake." I put the rose in my pocket.
"AHHHHH!" We heard from the distance.
"I pity Elaine… She must have gotten icing on her dress again." She replied, doing her girly giggle.
"Are you ready?" I asked and handed her the bouquet of flowers.
"I think so… actually… I am not sure I want to do this anymore!" Claire replied, heading for the door.
"Come on! Don't be a wimp. If you don't get married, we don't get to eat the cake." I bribed her.
"Ok… I will, as long as I get the first slice of cake!" She replied. We Shook hands and made the deal.
"Go on… the song is playing!" I said and ran out and sat near the others on a bench.
"She ready?" Jennifer asked.
"I hope so. She does have cake on the line!" I replied and hoped she would do it, for the cake at least.
After the song, they got right to the I do's.
"I do." He said holding her hand.
"I do, she replied." And they leaned in to kiss.
"CASSANDRA!" The teacher yelled at her.
"wa, Wa, WA!" She replied, waking up from her dream. "I wasn't sleeping… I was just, um, resting my eyes!" She replied at the angry teacher. I knew she was mad, the teacher had already put 5 people to detention since first period, and it is only second!
"What do you think your doing?" I asked her on a note. I didn't want Mrs. Naka to get mad at me for whispering.
She flung the paper over Heidi's head and she caught it. Heidi read it and wrote a message, then passed it to me.
"I had the most beautiful dream! It was from a manga I borrowed off Itchy Butt. Two people, about to get married, with a bouquet of roses and she was in the most beautiful pink gown."
"Right on… next time dream about exams… they are next week! Maybe you should take a break from reading your love stories and actually study today!"
I read it over twice, thinking of something sarcastic to say. Then I wrote…
"Oh! Were they kissing? It is like Days Of Our Lives all over again!" Then I drew a sarcastic face next to it.
I threw it to Cassandra and she made the most hateful face I have ever seen. She passed it to Heidi, but Justine, who was behind her, took it and wrote something. Then She passed it to Ashley, and then Ashley passed it to Heidi. Heidi wrote something and it was passed to me again.
"Hey! It is not my fault I have taste!"-Cassandra
"She got better than you have…"-Justine
"Yo!"-Ashley
"Exactly what Justine said! YOU NEED TO STUDY!"-Heidi
I thought about it for a second then wrote…
"If you paid attention to school like you did to comics, you would get an A+ in everything!"-Elizabeth
It went on like that all during the period, with in-between note taking. Cassandra was put off, and decided to study for the exams and maybe she would get somewhere. At least summer is almost here. We are all going to Tenille's house the first day off for a sleep over, for the last day of I.J Samson may be the last day we will all be together in school.
