A/N: Told you I'd update soon. I'm not sure whether the next one should be the last. Please review!
"Have you seen Booth?" Angela asked as she entered the main lab. She had noticed her best friend was wearing a secretive smile when she came in this morning.
"Why would I?" Brennan said in a still voice. She tried desperately not to smile at the mention of his name.
"We're all going out to lunch, so I'll see you there," the artist grinned as she exited the Jeffersonian.
half an hour later
"Hey, you finally decided to take a break," Angela said, as her friend sat opposite her. Brennan slid into the seat, trying not to look too happy as she accidentally nudged Booth. "Did you get home alright last night?"
"Yes," the partners said together. They both looked up, thinking Angela had figured something out.
"Did you have fun?" Zack asked. His boss hadn't even noticed he was there until he spoke. Angela and Hodgins glanced quickly at each other before turning back.
"Yeah, I did," she sighed. She leaned her hand on the chair next to her. Booth entwined his fingers with hers as they half ignored the conversation. The lunch was quite uneventful, especially as Zack was the only one who had anything to eat. "Well, we've got work to do," Brennan sighed. Her and Booth both stood up at the same time, the rest of the team looked down to see they were still holding hands.
"You can explain later," Hodgins laughed as the scientist realised what they were looking at. They left the diner still holding hands and laughing.
"Did I miss something?" Zack asked as Angela started giggling.
"Look whose back," Hodgins shouted down from the main lab, noticing Brennan and Booth enter the Jeffersonian.
"What do we do?" Brennan questioned her partner.
"This is the perfect time for denial," he replied, "just play along."
"I don't know what that means."
"Bones, how the hell can you not know what that means," he practically shouted through the lab.
"I told you, don't call me Bones."
"Are you just seeing how many of your little phrases you can use in one argument?" he teased. Angela followed them into Brennan's office. "What do you want Ange?"
"I want you to explain to me how an FBI agent can be such a bad liar," she laughed. Booth's chocolate brown eyes widened.
"I am not!"
"Sure, because nobody saw you guys holding hands."
"We weren't holding hands, our…watches were caught," Brennan struggled.
"Sweetie, you're not wearing a watch." The scientist looked down and bit her lip, trying to think of an explanation.
"It might concern you to know that Hodgins and I dropped by your place last night."
"You were following us?"
"Don't try to change the subject, because you know I'm not going to give up."
"I'm not saying anything," Brennan protested. She turned around and was caught off guard by Booth's passionate kiss.
"Happy now?" he asked Angela as he pulled his partner out into the main lab.
"I thought it was the perfect time for denial."
"Well, I'm bored of denial now," he admitted, holding her hand in his.
That was shorter than expected and I do actually prefer the previous one, but the next one will be better if you review!
