"Boy and girl fall in love..."

He did love her, unconditionally. She was the first face he saw when he became a new man. She had changed him from a man suffering from post-traumatic stress after a war to a man born out of love. She was his everything. He would always protect her, always try to keep her safe. If anybody ever hurt her, he'd save her and heal her and make sure it would never happen again. Her happiness came above all. Even if he never got to tell her, he loved her more than anything.

"Get separated by events, war, politics, accidentsin time…"

He put his hand on the wall, and he could almost feel her hand on the other side, reaching for something that wasn't there anymore. Screaming and crying and pleading for him. He himself was crying. They were separated, never able to see each other again. If he could go back to her, he would. He would stop her from crying and she would wipe away his tears. They'd comfort each other and never let each other go again. He loved her unconditionally, and now he would never be able to tell her. She was gone, forever.

"She's thrown out of the hex, or he's thrown into it."

And then he saw her one more time. He had the chance to tell her how he loved her, but the moment was cut short by reality and dimensions separating them. Perhaps it was for the better. If he had told her, he would have wanted to keepher. Perhaps it would have been harder to let her go if he had told her how he felt.

"Since then, they've been yearning for each other."

He missed her, so much. More than he probably should have missed her. There were times where he would try desperately to find ways to her. Each attempt ended in his two hearts breaking even more. He wondered if she ever missed him, or if she had found a new life in her parallel world. And then came the human version of himself, the one that she would spend the rest of her days with. He wondered if she still missed him, or if she was happy growing old with someone who loved her more than anything in any universe.

"Across time and space, across dimensions."

It didn't matter where he was - or even when he was. He missed her terribly wherever he found himself. Everything was a constant reminder, a memory of her or how much he missed her. That beach, that awful beach where he had left her twice, constantly haunted his mind. He'd seen the beginning of the universe, and the end. But nothing compared to her beauty, and he loved her more than he would ever love anyone else. More than he could love anyone else.

"It's not a ghost story. It's a love story."

A/N: Just a quick little story before I update Stranger on the Street Corner! Had a small idea and it just kind of happened. Also, great load of thanks to my new beta, EdithFinch! She's fantastic!

Much love!
