Claimed
Disclaimer: I do not own TWD characters. It would more likely be a weird smut show if I did, so I glad I don't.
He saw her standing on those tracks looking like a mama bear ready for a fight as she held Judith on her hip. He knew what he had to do. "Claimed," his voice rang out from behind the rest of the group as he walked towards her. She jumped at the sound of his voice. He had to press back a grin as he slung his arm around her and Judith, who reached for him.
"Claimed", he stated again shooting a glare at the group he was with. He wanted to make sure his point sunk home with the rest of the group. She cocked her head to look at him. He hoped she would stay quiet and play her part without questions. He should have known Carol would take a chance to tease him.
"Well ain't that just the best introduction, Pookie! Gonna explain to me what you "claiming" me entails. 'Cause I have a few ideas, but I wouldn't want to assume nothin'." She caressed his arm with her free arm and thickened her accent and finished the whole over the top performance with some eyelid fluttering.
He had an even harder time fighting a blush than he did the grin. "Shut up, woman." He looked boredly at the rest of the group. "Are ya gonna stand around gockin' all day? Thought we had a place to be." He pulled Carol with him to lead the group. He waited until the rest of the men in the group started taking the lead. He slowly ensured the he and Carol fell to the back of the group to the position he had been before she had shown up. "Damn fool woman, what the hell ya doing out here alone?" he harshly exhaled in her ear. She let out a too loud giggle and a light blush covered her cheeks, but her eyes met his before darting to one of the guys who had turned to check her out when he was whispering in her ear. "You wanna watch us go at it later too, fag?" he shouted as anger shot through him. The guy looked embarrassed and quickly looked front. Daryl wasn't sure how safe they would be in this group.
"Maybe a physical reminder will help them realize that they ain't got a chance." Her voice held that light teasing tone to it. He looked back to her and saw the flush covering her cheeks was darker than before. "I would rather be safe than dead, Daryl and a hickey seems a small price to pay for the safety of numbers." Her words had sound reason to them, but he wasn't sure that was how he wanted his first kiss with Carol to happen.
"When we make camp for the night, we can sneak away for a roll in the mud. Judith should be asleep for the night by then," her voice barely above a whisper as she stated her plan.
"One small change, we don't sneak off. We ain't got nothin' to hide." He watched as her face and neck go from light pink to a crimsons color. He couldn't fight the grin that came at the accomplishment.
