Rude awakening

A NaLu One Shot by Resotii Watasaki

"Natsu, wake up!" Lucy urged, shaking him rapidly. "It's bad enough that I let you sleep in my bed again but now you won't even wake up for our trip to the beach today?"

Natsu just grumbled in response.

It had been a hard month of jobs for the guild and the weather was starting to get really nice and Mirajane gladly recommended that they all take a break to enjoy it. And that's what they were planning on doing but apparently Natsu wasn't cooperating.

"Fine." Lucy scowled angrily. "You asked for this!" And with that she stomped over to the kitchen.

"L-Lucy, what are you doing?" Happy questioned worriedly.

A few seconds later, Lucy came back with a glass of ice cold water. Happy realized right away what she was going to do. He frantically flew over to her in attempt to stop her.

"Lucy, I wouldn't do that if I were yo-" But before Happy could finish, Lucy had already poured the glass of water right in Natsu's face.

Natsu let out a blood curling scream as if he were dying.

"AGH! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ABOUT?!" Natsu bellowed.

"Serves you right." Lucy pouted crossing her arms.

Natsu grimaced loudly and pounced on Lucy. "You'll pay for that!"

Soon the two of them were roughhousing all over the apartment, hitting each other and pulling at one another's hair, they seemed like two dogs duking it out.

"Guys, c'mon, knock it off!" Happy cried in dismay but it was no use.

They went at like this for a while and Happy just sat on the sidelines waiting for them to stop. It was all he could do.

Finally after what seemed like an hour, the fighting had finally subsided. But now things were a bit awkward as Natsu was on top of Lucy, pinning her to the ground.

All Happy could do was smile knowingly.

"Lucy, I-I-" Natsu stuttered, a broad blush appearing on his face.

"Natsu…" Lucy replied in almost a whisper, her cheeks bright red as well.

As if out of nowhere, Gray and Erza walked into the room to see the events that were taking place.

"Really now?" Erza huffed. "Is this really the way to behave? You aren't even dressed to go to the beach yet."

Yep, Natsu and Lucy were indeed still dressed in their pajamas.

"Wow, Natsu," Gray smirked. "I knew you had a thing for Lucy but this is going a bit too far."

Natsu quickly got off of Lucy, sputtering for words.

"H-H-Hey you got it all wrong, man!" He shouted, his face red with embarrassment.

"Yeah," Lucy chimed in. "I-it's not like that! Really!"

"Sure…" Happy teased. "We know you two liiiike each other."

"Shut it, cat!" Lucy yelled angrily. "You were HERE!"
