Angels Among Us

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Summary: Rogue writes in her diary about what happened in "On Angel's Wings". Spoilery, so this is your last chance to turn back.

A/N: OMG, that episode was amazing. I like this Angel better than the one in the comics. And I must say, Rogue is definitely cool with Magneto's powers. That's part of why I'm writing this, hehe. I also think she's the prettiest member of the cast.

Dear Diary,

I saw him today.

The Angel of New York.

His name is Warren Worthington, and he's just about the cutest guy I've ever seen. I don't know if he's a mutant or not, but the professor seems to think so. But to be quite honest, I don't really care. He's rich, did you know that? It doesn't matter, though, he has a lot more going for him than his money and his looks. Warren's more mature than the rest of the guys at the house; but then again, he is older than the rest of us. Maybe Ororo's age? He's so kind, too, it's unbelievable. He helps people without hesitation, without fear of being seen like us, the X-Men The guy even paid for that little girl's medical bills. Anonymously, of course.

Did I mention he was cute?

He has the ability to fly, with wings, like an Angel. That's what Scott (and everyone else) have been calling him. He just like to think of himself as plain, ol' Warren. Rich, smart, handsome, compassionate Warren. The wings must be a pain. We're so alike, you know. We both have to keep covered, enveloped in cloth, but for different reasons. At least I don't have to wear a big, long trench coat to keep people myself under cover.

It's too bad he wouldn't even come to see Professor Xavier, but I guess that's what he needed right now. To learn how to deal with things, by himself. I don't know how Scott knew he wouldn't come, but he was right. Too bad too, I wanted to see him again. Kitty woulda been drooling all over him. Well, at least Little Miss Perfect won't get a chance to be near him. And she better keep her grubby hands away from him, or she just might find out I'm more powerful today than I was yesterday. A lot more.

Y'see, I can fly too, just like Warren. Actually, just like Magneto. I absorbed his powers, and they still haven't faded away. The whole thing's pretty strange. I touched him hours ago, for like, a second, and they're just as strong as ever. Not that I'm complaining or anything, but that's never happened before. All I know is, the guy is powerful. No one's power I've absorbed has even come close to giving me this feeling of… superiority, or something. It's overwhelming, knowing I've got Magneto's incredible, evolved powers at my fingertips, but have to keep it a secret. ***Idea*** Maybe this weird, insane duration is caused by the mystical enhancement of Magneto's powers. That'd be nice. I hope it doesn't go away for a long, long time. I don't care what the Professor, or even Scott thinks.

These powers will be a lot more useful in a fight, not that we've seen any real action for a while, anyways. I know I'm gonna have a lot of fun, maybe I should show Kitty when she comes back and make her jealous. If she's lucky.

All I need to do now is learn a lot (and I mean, a lot) of control. I wonder what kind of precision I'll be able to learn? I'll see if I can feed myself tomorrow at breakfast. If my new powers don't burn out in my sleep.

It hope they never go away.

Evil beware, for I am the Mistress of Magnetism.

Okay, okay. I'll come up with a better nickname, but not until after I get some sleep. Maybe a new costume too. What do you think about a cape?

Love you Janie,

Rogue

Wouldn't anyone else like to see Rogue keep Magneto's mystically enhanced powers? I thought it was awesome getting to see her fly again.
