I wasn't sure if I should put this up or not…hahah, Hinata's pretty OOC. She's a lot stronger, I'm not giving her enough credit. and I'm a NaruHina fan. Pfft.

Disclaimer. I don't own Naruto in any world, universe or galaxy.

She watched, mildly fascinated, mostly disgusted, as the cool streams of blood slithered down her pale arms. Gory cuts marred her skin. She lay in crimson water, encased by a stained porcelain tub. She only wanted moremoremore until there was nothing left of her to give.

'Naruto. I love you.'

It had amazed her at the time, how easily the words she kept her most treasured secret for all those years, slipped off of her tongue. They felt so right, wrapping the two of them in a world of spun gold and happily ever after's. For the first time since the cheeky grinned, fox eyed, boy stole her heart, she felt without restraint-

until he perfectly shattered her illusion.

'Well gee, Hinata! That's really sweet!'

Sweet. He said she was sweet.

'But, I mean, I don't… really love you, you know, that way.' An awkward laugh.

Rejection. Bitter rejection. There was nothing sweet about it.

'But, hey!' He laughed pleasantly. As though he couldn't hear her heart

slowly

cracking

in her chest. On the

verge

of breaking.

'If you're really that desperate you could always go and talk to Kiba! I think he likes you, if you know what I mean,' he winked.

That

Desperate?

Desperately wishing for him to love her as she loved him.

Desperately hoping for the impossible.

A flash of bubble gum pink and mint green eyes. 'Naruto? What's going on here?'

A single pale hand slipped into his tanned one.

A delicate oval head fit into the crook of his strong neck. They were pieces of the same puzzle. They fit.

She never stood a chance.

'Guess what Sakura! Hinata say's she loves me!'

So thoughtless.

A twisted grin tugged her lips. The razor felt cold and deadly, wedged between her clammy fingers.

A

Pretty

Slice

Under her

Collarbone

She was sick. Humiliated. Heart broken.

'Naruto, what's going on?'

'Hinata say's she loves me!'

How could she ever face them?

Hinata twitched.

She brought the razor to eye level and stared unblinkingly. It's beautiful. The clean edge gleamed under the dim lights.

Sakura was very beautiful. Sakura. Whose eyes would only see Sasuke, even when she was looking at Naruto.

Hinata did not hesitate.

That night Hinata Hyuuga dressed her body in bloody lace. And all the while thought of the man she had sought after for all those years, the man who she kissed in her frenzied dreams, who she lovedlovedloved until there was nothing left to spare.

And she faded

…faded…

faded.
