Beautiful Dream
Were they really there? Did they really live the life that now felt so distant? It was fading, fading so quickly. Susan let go first, putting her back to her memories to hide her hurt. Peter remembered, but only as one remembers a beautiful dream. Edmund and Lucy tried desperately to hold on. Memories were all they had left now. But it was all slipping away. It was slipping so fast. As the days turned into weeks, and the weeks turning into months, they stopped talking about their times there.
At least, until one day, when the station shook, the children caught hands, and then—
They were home.
