Chapter I
**This is my first fanfic I've ever written so be kind on the reviews, but I'd like to know about what I could do to improve! Thx!**
Also, I don't own anything but the idea that led to writing the story, the characters are not mine.
Blinding pain flared in my leg causing me to stumble...I regain my balance, all the while repeatedly mentally telling myself to hold on a little longer and she'd be here, only a little longer…A little longer! I stumble again but this time I'm unable to regain my balance and end up toppling to the ground. I curse when I realize that the bullet had silver in it; when I realize that I don't have a few more minutes; that the paralysis was already setting in.
I softly apologize to my Alpha for doing this to her…Being the last to still be with her, I know that with my death will bring hers. A Therianthrope, shape shifter, can't live a solitary life; they need a family, a pack, a pride; and with my death she will have none...She will lose it, and most likely kill herself.
My heart aches at that thought…My Alpha is a kind, loving person who just doesn't know how to show it. She was forced early on in her life to harden her heart or you'd be bitten (no pun intended). But as I lay here; on the cold, hard forest floor; I wish she'd found at least one human to let in…One to hold her together when I'm gone.
I hear the hunter coming; smell his sickly, sweet sent; and feel the vibrations that his feet cause as he walks toward me. I can hear the leaves crackle as he shifts his weight to bent over me.
He bends down to my level and whispers into my ear "I hope your Alpha is more fun to play with...More of a challenge, since the hunt is as fun as the kill," He laughs a cruel, manic laugh before plunging the silver tipped knife into my abdomen.
I feel the darkness encroaching on my mind…The last thing I ever experience is my Alphas desperate cry of pain and horror, as she feels the last member of her pack die…As she feels the last of her sanity slip away…The last of her reason to live disappear.
