The Horrors of Wonderland
Chapter 1 – The Spade
The first Alice went walking through the woods of Wonderland
Meiko cautiously proceeded through Wonderland's dead and withered forest. Dried up leaves and twigs snapped loudly under her feet…each crunch drawing her attention to a new area of bush or tree.
Bravely, with a fearsome sword clutched in her fevered hand
Short brown hair hung heavy with sweat and exhaustion was starting to set into the blood-thirsty warrior. Just as she was ready to discard her broadsword and rest for a bit, a flash of white dashed across the path ahead of her. Adrenaline pumped through every inch of Meiko's body as she charged towards the pale monster.
She cut down creatures in the way of her unyielding wrath
As usual, her body acted faster than her mind and before she could fully register what happened, the giant sword she carried was lodged deep into the head of the enormous rabbit.
Leaving carnage in her wake by a red and bloody path
A devilish smirk crossed her face and she ripped the blade from the overgrown mammal, wiping the excess blood on her long red gown, before continuing on her merry way. "…Teaches that damned brat to confine me to these fucking woods!" Meiko grumbled, slicing the air at the imaginary Queen. "Now how the fuck do I get out of the hell-hole?"
The first Alice strayed too far and too deep in the wood
A low hissing noise stopped Meiko in her tracks. In all the years she's been wandering this forest, nothing has ever been hostile enough to threaten her. She felt her heart sink to her stomach when the petrified trees began to stiffly sway with a wind that wasn't there. Something was very wrong, and Meiko had a feeling she was soon about to find out what exactly it was…
It marked her as a sinner and locked her in there for good
Something thick and rough wrapped itself tightly around her ankle and pulled her off her feet, dragging her down the path she came. With her only weapon growing quickly further and further away from her, Meiko felt the sickening feeling of being completely helpless.
She slid over a cold wetness and was soon presented with the half eaten carcass of the large rabbit she had killed only minutes ago. With her mind finally catching up to what was happening, the Alice of Spades let out the loudest scream she could manage. The force of it burned her throat raw, but did no good in the endlessness of muting trees.
Much like the gruesome path that marked her murdering way
Through puddle after puddle of her own innocent victims, Meiko was dragged. The sticky red liquid of the animals mixed with the blood flowing from her scratched and covered her from head to toe, refusing to be simply wiped away.
Finally the dragging stopped and Meiko exhaled a sigh of relief as whatever attached itself to her now mangled ankle had removed itself. Her relaxation was short lived however, when many of what had been previously dragging her now crawled up her legs, covering every inch of bloody skin and contracting until skin gave way and bones shattered.
Inch by painful inch Meiko was consumed by the very forest she wreaked bloody havoc in for so many years before.
Her life remained a mystery until this very day.
