Just my feelings regarding both movies.
Disclaimer: I own neither Avatar!
Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Toph, and Suki all strolled out of the movie theater, their feelings mixed.
"Those special effects were AMAZING!" Sokka raved to all who listened, though unfortunately for him all but Suki ignored his rant. He took another mouthful of popcorn from the box in his girlfriend's hands and continued, "I felt like I was right there!"
Toph nodded in agreement. "I KNOW! And the colors were so bright!"
Sokka shook his head eagerly. "Yeah, and the way they animated though plants...I hate it when you do that, you know."
Aang groaned in vexation and facepalmed. Gritting his teeth, he growled out, "I wasn't even in it! And I'm the title character!"
Zuko shrugged. "Well, even though it was a movie about a bunch of blue aliens, I still thought it was good."
Katara frowned. "Aang, it was a good movie and you know it. Just because it wasn't what you expected doesn't mean you should dislike it so much. It was better than the play the Ember Island Players put on about us, remember?" The mere memory of that atrocity caused them all to shudder violently.
"I don't know who James Cameron is," said Zuko, "but man, can he make a good flick."
Aang still continued his pouting, upset at this plagiarism of his own good name, and the good names of Roku, Kyoshi, and all the Avatars of past! "Yeah, well, I still think a movie about my journey would be better!"
Zuko snorted. "As if! Like a movie about some Airbender could beat what we just saw!"
"Just you watch!" Aang pointed at Zuko, as if channeling his fury through that one appendage. "A movie about me will win every single Oscar there is!"
One year later...
Aang sobbed into his popcorn container as the Gaang once again exited the theater. Above them was a sign that proudly read, "NOW PLAYING: THE LAST AIRBENDER."
"The plot was so bad, I'm going to tearbend!" Aang whimpered into his extra buttery goodness, his one source of comfort.
"I didn't crack a single joke!" Sokka complained. This time, though, no one listened to him at all.
"At least you guys were in it!" Suki and Toph cried simultaneously.
Zuko stared at his feet. He didn't have much to complain about, to be honest; him and Uncle had good actors in that movie. "Well, the effects were decent."
"Let's never talk about what we just saw ever again," Katara muttered as she thought of various ways to get revenge on M. Night Shyamalan.
And that sums up both movies for the Gaang.
