A/N: Due to a request, I'm making a story from the poem Her! This is going to be Darry and my OC (Jackie) and I figured it'd be boring to start where they meet, so I'm going to begin where they've been dating for three years. Remember, Darry is 23 now and Soda died in Vietnam. Oh, and I will be updating It's Just Alittle Cold soon so look out for that! Thank you! R&R Please!

I glanced down at my ring, or should I say Darry's ring. He had given me his senior ring a few weeks after we've been going steady. That was 3 years ago now. I couldn't stop thinking about him lately. Was he ever going to propose to me? I mean, three years is an awful long time, especially for a 23 year old. Not to mention, I moved in with him a few months ago. I lit a cigarette and leaned back on the sofa. I had just gotten home from work about a half hour ago and I was exhausted.

"Anybody home?!" I heard a voice yell through the screen.

"Yeah, go away you bum!" I said half joking, half not. I really wasn't in the mood for anybody. I heard a chuckle and Two-bit walked in, slamming the door behind him. "Did you not hear me?" I asked taking in a long drag.

"I just wanted to bug you. Anybody else home?" He asked, going to raid the fridge. Jokes on him, there really wasn't anything.

"Nah, Pony is at a buddy's house." I replied back, slightly irritated. I don't know why I was so ticked, I must almost be on the rag.

"Shoot, what time does Dar get home?" He came back in the room and sat across from me on the recliner.

"Golly, let me just wiggle my nose and magically know." I snapped, putting my cigarette out in the ash tray. "Geez, I'm sorry. It was a shitty day. I think he's gonna be home around 11."

"You're lookin beat." He said, standing up and making his way to the door. I didn't reply. He was absolutely right. I heard the door open and close, and I knew he was walking home. I just laid there on the couch, thinking about how rude I had been toward him. The house was quiet, only one lamp providing light, other than that it was dark. I felt so alone. Suddenly, I began wishing he'd come back.

(Sorry for the short chapter, I'm trying to get back in my writing groove. Ask any questions you need, I hope to have more information in the next chapter.)
