Frodo's Burden
Disclaimer: I don't own Lord of the Rings Tolkien does and New Line Cinema owns the movies.
Authors note: This poem has religion in it, and a religious message at the end.
In the land that is dry and filled with poisonous fumes
Frodo walks with a burden that is heavy,
a burden that torments his minds with frightening images,
a burden that wind its way into his heart like a strangling vine,
a burden that grows heavier and makes him bend over double,
and a burden that makes empty promises.
How long can he stand the burden,
how long before he resists its siren call,
how long can he keep going with wounds that aggravate him,
and with a lack of food and water
that weakens him till he can barely move?
Frodo cannot bear this suffering alone,
but he is not alone.
He has a friend that protects and comforts him,
a friend that gives him hope and strength,
a friend that helps him to keep going and not to give up
till the ring is destroyed in the fires of Mount Doom.
How wonderful it is to have a friend like Sam
In fact, we do
This friend is called Jesus, who is kind and true,
who is always there for us in our sorrows and joys
We must be that kind of friend to others,
and show the love of Jesus to everyone.
We are not obligated to have friendships with everybody, but we are obligated to be kind to everybody and help those in need.
