Landslide
She danced with her father in beautiful circles. Everyone in the hall around them had eyes that were glistening with the tears. He forced the tears back as he looked at her. She had grown into a lovely woman and in this moment he realized fully that his little girl was no longer a little girl. This made him sad and enthralled all at once. She was moving into a new chapter in her life.
Well I've been 'fraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you,
But time makes you bolder, even children get older
oh, I'm getting older too
So...
I've been 'fraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder, even children get older
I'm getting older too

His mind was filled with images of his little girl in various stages of her life.
Her birth was the second best day in his life up to that point. After hours of watching his wife in pain and refusing any medication Alyssa was born. She was the most wonderful thing that he had ever seen. He had vowed to protect her and love her every day of her life no matter what would occur.
Her first day of school where she was reassuring her parents was one of the moments replaying also. "I will be fine Mommy! Daddy it is okay you can let go of my hand. I promise it will be okay."
That day was nearly 21 year ago. Her father smiled at her realizing that he and her mother had done what they could and it was their best. He was proud to call her his daughter and he was proud to see the man that he called 'son' waiting for his bride.
Oh, Take my love, take it down
Oh, you climb a mountain and you turn around
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide'll bring it down
Oh, and if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
The landslide will bring it down
Oh, oh, the landslide will bring it down
The song was coming to an end. Alyssa stood on her tip toes and whispered into her father's ear.
"You will always be my number one man Daddy. I love you." Booth pulled back and looked into her eyes and saw a tear slip down her cheek silently. She smiled and hugged him tightly. The tears that he was fighting finally broke through. He walked her to her husband and shook his hand.
"Take care of her John."
"I will Dad."
Booth walked back to his wife who had a hand out for him to take.
"You ok Love?"
"Oh yea she's going to be fine."
"Yes of course she will she's married to her best friend. I have experienced that if you marry your best friend life turns out to be fairly beautiful."
"Have I told you lately that I love you Bones?"
"Not in the last hour no," she said with a smile upon her face. They still looked at each other with the same fire and passion that was there when they first met. Fate was what put them together and it was fate that married their first born daughter to her best friend, Jonathon Billy Hoggins. Temperance Brennan had learned that sometimes there were things that were just meant to be and that they couldn't be explained.
As the newly married couple left both sets of parents stood together and watched their children ride off to the airport. They knew one thing and one thing only; there may be different kinds of family but theirs was truly the best kind to have.

Soooo…..should I continue with my writing even though this one stands alone?
