Snoggletog was both the best and worst time of the year.
And it had all to do with his overly enthusiastic little wifey.
Astrid always went into full holiday mood and while Hiccup found it endearing in general.. there was this drink called Yaknog.
He had hoped never to taste it again ever since his first encounter with this gooey liquid many a years ago.
He had expected Astrid to forget about it and move on to something else.
She almost did if it weren't for Hiccup's mother Valka.
While basically everyone on Berk, with the exception of the dragons, hated Yaknog, Valka specifically requested it. Over the years she had developed an acquired taste and the Yaknog was just right up her alley.
The Yaknog tradition went on for years combined with his mother's raw fish dish.
Even Hiccup's kids had the misfortune to taste it.
But other than his mother and wife's questionable cooking, there were also some great joys to be found when it came to Snoggletog.
Hiccup and Astrid first child Stoick was born on Snoggletog for instance, and it was the first time Hiccup felt a love so pure for someone other than Toothless.
