Jay and Mal friendship one-shot

It took a lot to make Mal cry. So when Evie had rushed into the boys dormitory scared, shocked, and worried because Mal had started to cry in the middle of the night and woke her up, it came as a surprise to Jay. Not once had he seen Mal cry. Not once. And he had known her the longest. She would have a dislocated shoulder on the Isle and still wouldn't cry. So as Jay and Carlos and Evie rushed to hers and Mal's room, seeing Mal crying was a shock to them.
"Mal, you okay?" Asked Jay
No answer, just sniffing
"Mal can you please tell me if you can hear me?"
A slight nod of the head
"Can you tell me what is going on?"
...
"Mal?"
"Onyu"
"What?"
"Only you." Said Mal at barely above a wispher.
Jay turned back around to Evie and Carlos.
"Can you give us a minute?"
They both nodded and walked out the door. Hoping nothing was wrong with their friend they leaned against the door so they could hear Jay and Mal's conversation.
"Mal will you tell me what's wrong?"
"7"
"Seven what Mal, come on tell me dragon."
Mal shifted onto her side so she could look Jay straight in the eyes. He wished she didn't. Her eyes were puffy and she looked like a wreck.
"More than seven. " Said Mal with a hoarse voice. "I woke up from a nightmare. She was there. Maleficent. She was yelling at me for betraying her. She beat me and she did horrible things, Jay. I woke up with seven things. A headache, sore thraot, stuffy nose, burning ears, fever, aches everywhere, and I'm still dizzy."
Jay didn't know what to say. He couldn't say anything because he never had to comfort her before. He knew what that evil woman did to Mal but he never saw it...
"Come here dragon." Jay said in the most comforting tone he could achive.
"I'll get you sick." Mal had argued
"I don't care, you had to deal with memories of Maleficent and you're also very sick so come here."
And with that Mal snuggled up with Jay and fell asleep. Dreaming of her, Evie, Jay, and Carlos together as a family.
...
The next day Mal woke up to a room full of her family. Yesterday was the day of Mal's nightmare. She was still very sick and it hurt to move. But she had also dreamed of her mother. The very woman who was cruel to her when she was sick. Then she cried. In front of her friends. She cried for everything that happened on the Isle (The cruel Isle) The reason she let Jay know a little bit of why she had been crying (She still had her pride ) was because he's known her the longest. And he had seen her cry before, but she had knocked him out right after telling him everything. He doesn't remember anything about that for that was on the Isle, crying was a weakness, but today she was glad Jay knew what went on in her head. As long as he doesn't tell anyone else.
