A/N: I don't own Inception, if I did, then I'd make a sequel all about Arthur and Ariadne.

"Is someone there?" Ariadne's voice shook slightly. She gripped the armrests of her chair securely, trying to get her eyes to adjust to the darkness. She'd always been frightened of the dark, and being alone in a warehouse when the power went out didn't do wonders for her. And now she could have sworn that a door had opened and closed quietly. "He-hello?"

A few footsteps echoed in the darkness, and Ariadne jumped and slid off her chair when a soft hand touched her shoulder. "Who's there?" a voice came a bit above her.

"Ariadne…" her heart pounded in her chest. The voice sounded vaguely similar…

"Oh. Why are you still here? And why's it so dark?"

The identity was on the tip of her tongue, but she couldn't quite figure out who it was. "Cobb? No…" something clicked in her head finally. "Arthur!"

"Yes…"

"Oh, good." Ariadne let out a sigh of relief, standing up slightly shakily. "The p-power went out…I was just looking at the city for the extraction again."

Arthur reached out blindly, and found her shoulder, gripping it slightly. "Are you alright? You don't normally fall out of chairs when someone comes in."

"Y-yeah…it's just…I'm kind of," Ariadne felt her face fill with heat. "I'm scared of the dark."

"I used to be," Arthur said, surprising Ariadne. "I just try to remember that what's there when the light is on is there when the light is off."
Ariadne shrugged under his hand. "I dunno. It's irrational, for me."

"You seem to be less and less scared though, now." Ariadne could just barely make out his silhouette.

"I know. I think it's mostly when I'm alone in the dark that I'm scared."

Arthur caught a small smile on her face as his night vision improved slowly. "I'm glad I'm helping," he grinned slightly.

"Thank you," Ariadne said quietly, feeling a hundred times more comfortable.

A loud bang suddenly echoed through the room. Ariadne squeaked and threw herself forward, pressing against Arthur.

"It's okay," he whispered into her hair, putting his arms slightly tentatively around her. "I'm sure it's just the wind."
Trembling against his chest, Ariadne gripped his shirt tightly. "Are you sure?" she whispered.

"Yes," he said confidently.

"There's nobody here?"

"Nobody but us."

"Kiss me."

Arthur pulled back from her slightly, surprised. Her face was tilted up to him, and as a cloud moved from in front of the moon, the room was flooded with a faint blue light.

Her dark eyes held his gaze fast and her pale hands pulled on his shirt. Arthur's face moved towards hers, both of their eyes closing slowly.

His lips met hers, softly at first, like a breath of fresh air to Ariadne, and then pressed harder, moving against her lips sensually and making both of them breath in slightly at the electricity buzzing between them. One of his hands wound into her long hair and secured both her against him and their fate.

"Ariadne," he said quietly as they parted slightly. "Will you go out with me?"

As an answer, her lips touched his again.

A/N: I probably won't be posting this many stories (even itty bitty ones like this) usually. I'm on winter break right now, and I'm only 14, and I'm working on a bigger project (a book!) that I'm trying to put more time into. 3
