I looked deadpanned at the screen, ignoring it I looked around the dark room and saw other beds with small lumps that I identified as children occupying them. I tried to think back about how I had gotten to this point only to come up blank. I exhaled in frustration as I tried again to remember but again I came up blank. I looked back at the screen which had not yet disappeared led me to believe that I'm either hallucinating, dreaming, or this is real. I found it disconcerting that I could read the text that was in a language which my instincts told me I shouldn't be able to read.
"Japanese" The language's name slipped out of my mouth before I realized what happened. With that realization, a load of memories slammed into my head, memories of an anime called Naruto.
'Seeing as I only have memories of said anime, I can probably say they're important' I thought to myself silently. I jumped slightly when a screen popped up suddenly.

I was confused, I didn't know what any of this meant. I clicked on the question marks, I was surprised when I encountered resistance. I first clicked on the question mark where my name should be.

I was surprised that I could choose my own name but pleased. I thought for a few moments before I decided on a name.

I then pressed enter. My status screen updated with my new name now displayed proudly.
When I clicked on the question mark where my race is nothing happened, so I gave up on that and classed it as unimportant as of right now. However, there was still the problem of not knowing what any of the other things meant.
"Help" The word again slipped out without my permission, I was grateful that it did when I read the screen that popped up when I said it.

The trippy feeling of my mind expanding came and went. Before I could do anything else a woman entered the rapidly lightening room. I quickly laid down and pretended to sleep before she saw that I was awake. The woman went about waking up the children, I got up acting like the slight noise she was making woke me. I rubbed my eyes further reinforcing my act. When she came to my side of the large room she smiled at me and went to the bed next to mine to wake up a young girl who was maybe a year younger than me. I got out of bed and followed the other children that were heading towards the door which led to a hallway. We stopped and waited for the rest of the children and the woman. The woman proceeded to lead us through a door on the left which turned out to lead to a dining room.
The children headed towards a seat on the long dining so I followed their example.
'Hmm, either these children are my siblings and therefore our parents do nothing but have sex or this is an orphanage, a well funded one at that. If it's a well-funded orphanage then I'm probably in a well off area of the village.' I deduced from my observations.

'Hmm, then that confirms where I'm at.' I thought to myself idly noting that time slows down slightly when a screen pops up, not enough to be amazingly useful but still useful to know. A plate and cup being sat in front of me made me jump a little. I looked up at the orphanage worker who sat it in front of me, smiled at her and quietly thanked her. She nodded back at me and sat the other plate she had in front of another kid. I looked at the plate and saw that it carried bacon, eggs, and toast, the cup simple held water.
"Ryu! I've been looking everywhere for you!" An excited voice practically shouted in my ear. I almost lashed out at the kid but stopped myself just in time. I turned towards the voice and saw the girl from earlier. She had longish brown hair, green eyes, and a rounded face. She wore a red, well-worn shirt, and beige shorts. I looked above her head and saw.

"You obviously didn't look hard enough," I remarked thoughtlessly, regretting it immediately afterward. I looked at her to see if I had unwittingly hurt her feelings, however, she only laughed and told me.
"Hurry up and eat! You promised to play with me today!" She told me excitedly before running off. She stopped as if she had just remembered something, she turned and said.
"Ah! I just remembered! The Matron asked me to tell you that it's your turn to wash dishes!" She told me happily before speeding off. Two screens popped up after she left.

'Interesting' I thought absentmindedly eating a piece of bacon. I dismissed the screen and subtly looked around trying to find the Matron, which wasn't hard as there were only three adults in the room. I finally found her washing dishes near the back of the room, I looked at her name tag.

Going towards her with my empty plate, she saw my approach and said.
"Ah Ryugin, just in time to wash these dishes. I'll leave them to you as I have things to do." She said with a kind smile that I had a feeling hid something, but I nevertheless washed the dishes quickly and I even got a skill for it.

I didn't really know what efficiency meant in relation to the skill until I notice with each level that I was cleaning faster and faster. When I was done a screen popped up.

With that done I went back into the hallway and tried to find Olivia. A few minutes later I still hadn't found her I was frustrated. When I opened the last door in this section of the hall I found the bathroom. I approached the mirror I found in curiosity over what I looked like. It was like looking at myself for the first time... wait it is.
I had blonde hair which spiked downwards, I had scarlet eyes, a sharp face with a bit of baby fat. I had a healthy tan and I was slightly taller than average. I wore black pants with a decent amount of pockets and I wore a sorta new looking dark green shirt.
"Ryu! What are you doing? Hurry Up!" The hurricane known as Olivia shouted at me from the bathroom door. Before running back down the hall, sighing I quickly followed her before she could get too far. She led me to a section in the hall that had cubbies that were filled with shoes, each cubbie had the shoes' owner's name on them. Finding my own cubbie I quickly put on the black sandals and hurried out the door after her. When I stepped out of the door I was briefly blinded by the bright morning light.
I moved my hand to block the light and saw through my fingers a couple of birds fly, passed them I saw the Hokage Mountain with...three faces on it.
