a/n So this is a series of crack shots and drabbles involving my favorite characters, and kids games. *grin* Don't blame me, blame my friends who decided we weren't too old to play night games. *evil giggles* I will be posting each independently, since they are each set in a different tv show.

Playing Games 8: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

"You wanna do what?"

The Slayer did not sound happy. Spike, leaning against one of the bookshelves, and Xander, sitting at at the table, rolled their eyes, Giles looked confused, Oz was staring at the computer and laughing, and Dawn was excitedly jumping around.

Cordelia was filing her nails.

Willow shrugged. "I know it sounds weird, Buffy, but it was in my vision."

"Seriously, Will?" The petite blonde stared incredulously at her witchy best friend.

The redhead nodded seriously. "If we want to find the chalice, we need to play Duck, Duck, Goose."

Buffy groaned, running a hand unhappily through her long hair. "Fine." She sank to sit cross-legged on the floor. "Let's get this over with then."

"That's the spirit, love!" Spike's voice was as mocking as his voice.

"Com'mere," she crooked a finger at him. As soon as he was resting beside her, she slammed a fist into his shoulder.

He flinched, but the smiled remained.

Everyone else joined the circle on the floor. (Dawn bounced over giggling, Oz and Xander grinned at each other, Cordelia huffed and sat, crossing her legs out in front of her, and Giles came over after putting his book down with an annoyed "thump".) Then Willow pointed at Buffy. "You start."

The blonde dropped her chin like an angry animal, and the look she shot her friend was dangerous. Then she pushed to her feet and started walking around the outer edge of the circle.

"Duck, duck, duck, duck, duck, duck..."

Finally, she slapped Spike on the back of the head, yelling "GOOSE!", at the same time he darted to his feet, one hand holding the back of his head ("Bloody hell!") and the other catching Buffy's arm.

"Nice try, love."

She sunk her knuckles into his stomach and darted around the circle to dive down into his spot. She grinned up at him. "Whatever, Spike. Your turn."

"She's a bloody cheater!" The shocking blonde protested to the other players.

Dawn giggled again. "Just play, Spike. You're a vampire. You're faster then all of us, so you'll be sitting down in a minute anyway."

The answering smile on Spike's face was gentle as he looked over at the young girl. "Fine, peaches." He paced outside the circle.

"Duck, duck, duck, GOOSE!"

Dawn had been right. Spike was settling comfortably down in Dawn's place before she could blink. "You're up, sweet pea."

The brunette tried to glare, but was having too hard a time stopping her laughter.

"Duck, duck, duck, duck, duck, duck, duck, duck, duck, GOOSE!"

Oz caught her after a few steps. "Really?" His tone was sweet and teasing. "First the vampire, now the werewolf?"

Dawn shrugged. "I like getting to mess with everyone's hair."

Cordelia immediately whipped out a compact mirror and studied her reflection in panic. When she was satisfied no harm had been done to her 'do, she snapped the mirror shut and met everyone's eyes. "What? So I actually care how I look. That's not a crime!"

All the other players bit down on the sharp responses. An angry Cordelia was worse then an irritated Cordelia. And the Queen Bee irritated was a major pain in the butt.

Dawn started again. "Duck, duck, duck, duck, duck..."
