People think that they know who I am. They see me in the streets and cower, frightened out of their minds. They turn and run. Men shudder when my name is called. Women faint when they hear of me. Children scream and hide behind a mother's cloak.

I can not say that this displeasures me.

From childhood, I was always different. My sisters wanted to grow up, get married, have a family. I can't say that I blame them. That was what I wanted too, but only for a short while. Then I realized what a cruel world this is.

You see, I had my heart broken.

As an adult, as a full grown woman, I fell in love. This man was everything that I wanted to be, and everything I want my husband to be. He was bold, daring, powerful, and he was not afraid to be his own person. Of course, he was not perfect- no one is. I can tell you that much for sure. But when I met him, I thought that there might be hope in this world that there could be a perfect person.

Standing next to him, I felt whole. I felt like we would rise up to power, and stand at the head of all others. Exactly where I wanted to be.

However, he was always concerned with power, nothing more, nothing less. He never desired a wife, or a child, or a family. I suspect it was because of his own experiences with families. As we grew closer, he told me about his parents. The father, an unsuspecting man. His mother, a witch armed with a love potion and an idea. His grandfather, an unloving wizard who didn't care about his only daughter at all. His uncle, who understood him more than anyone.

I listened to him. I was the most thoughtful person ever. I made sure that I was paying attention, and didn't drift off at all. Even now, years later, I can tell you about his time in the orphanage. He always told me everything.

But he had an idea of his own, one that didn't include me.

Oh, yes, I got married. My husband is a wonderful person, but never as good, as special to me, as perfect as my love. However, if Rodolfus is the best I can do, then I will take it. He gave me a name. He gave me money. My sister became a Malfoy, and she got a great deal also. Only Andromeda was stupid and didn't marry for walth, for fame and fortune. But we don't talk about her.

I am a proud, strong woman.

I am about to get the man I truly deserve.

I am always a winner, no matter what I have to do to get there.
