I bite my lip as I carefully dial the number, staring at the ring. Lorelai Leigh Huntzberger. It has an interesting turn to it, I suppose. Actually, who am I kidding? It's even more pretentious than Logan Elias Huntzberger.
"Hey you." he answers softly when he picks up. "I thought you needed time."
"It's sort of pretentious, don't you think?"
"What is?"
"My name." I pause. "Now that I think about it, 'Lorelai Leigh Gilmore the Third' is too, but that's not what I'm talking about."
"Rory, you're not making any sense."
"I'm in love with you."
"I'm in love with you too."
"I want this."
"So do I."
"If we do this, do we have to do it soon?"
"Rory, I just want to know that it's you and me against the world."
"Somehow I doubt that the rest of the world will see it that way. We have very stuck up names. That won't change if we do this."
"We could change our last name to Smith."
"Logan Elias Smith is a stupid name." I pause, and glance at the ring. "For that matter, so is Lorelai Leigh Smith. At least if we keep Huntzberger it will just sound pretentious instead of insane."
"We?"
"You jump, I jump, Jack."
