A/N: This is my first Twilight fan fiction, so please review whether you like it or hate it, I don't mind flames and I LOVE constructive criticism! So review either way! Please. 3
1. Tantalizing
POV: Edward
Setting: Bella's first day of school, Biology Class
I sat on the very edge of my stool, as far away from her as I could manage. It took all that I had not to break down and bite her right there...she just smelled so...so...- what word could I possibly use to describe it? - tantalizing! I chanced a look in her direction, but a curtain of her hair blocked my view. I knew that for some reason, I couldn't read her mind, and it frustrated me beyond words. I had a right to know what she was thinking, being so appetizing, a danger to mine and my family's carefully constructed cover and control. Well, I would have to deal with that later-it's not like I could do anything about it right now.
I began to fantasize about luring her away after class, into the woods…She would follow, I was sure of that…sinking my teeth into her luscious neck, draining her sweet blood…NO! Stop that! I mentally scolded myself. I had to stop thinking such things! What would it do to fatherly Carlisle, to sweet Esme? To my whole family? I HAVE to get my mind off of this! I decided then to write something. That always got my mind off of things when I was stressed. So I pulled out a ballpoint pen and let the words take me away…
Tantalizing
Tantalizing. So appealing, beautifully alive-tantalizing.
Your smell-Faintly freesia, mixed with your dulcet blood.
Your blood-I can only imagine; tastes sweeter than the sweetest candy.
Your hair-dark chocolate waves that shield your blushing face.
Your blush-beautiful bashfulness, luscious blood rising in your cheeks.
Your eyes-sparkling and quick to stare, yet quicker to look away.
Your skin-pale, but glowing, seems so soft.
Your neck, tempting, so very tempting.
Your pulse-a sign, a lovely indication of life.
Oh dear Bella, can I hold back…?
When you are so very…tantalizing…
Looking up from my handiwork, I glanced at the clock. Oh thank God. Two minutes until class let out. I'll go to home…then I'll go to Alaska. Yes, that's it; I'll go to Alaska for a few days to sort everything out. Bracing myself to bolt, I waited for the bell. I counted down the seconds until it rang. As soon as it sounded, I was out in the fresh air at an inhuman speed. That was surely a mistake, Bella seemed intuitive and curious, but I didn't care right then. I was free! I strode quickly into the woods, and began to run home. I didn't want to risk having anymore classes with…her. I packed a quick suitcase, then started the short journey to Alaska.
