Sorry this is really dumb and cheesy and lame and probably ooc but I'm in love with this ship right now and I'm desperate to contribute

I wrote this at like midnight and hardly proofread it I'm sorry

by the way the cover art is mine it has nothing to do with the story it's just the only rocketshipping fanart I have

He opened his eyes, and saw the stars.

The little white dots covered the pitch black sky, and made shapes and dazzling images that swirled about like a painting. He wanted to close his eyes once more and never open them back up.

Before he could do such a thing, two figured raced towards his side, panting, gasping, and then ever-so-gracefully kicking him in the side. "James!" Jessie yelled. "Are you awake?!"

The lavender-haired man sat up slowly, trying to take in what had just happened.

Right.

Their stealthy night mission to capture the twerp's pikachu had been a bust. Like always, they'd been blasted off into the sky, and this time, they had come crashing down into a clearing in a forest - and there James laid, dazed as ever, and as tired as even possible. Couldn't he just go back to sleep?

"The twerps got us good dis time." Meowth scoffed.

Jessie growled. "It won't happen next time."

In a weak voice, James spoke a sentence that he knew would sting in the hearts of his friends. But he didn't think as the words tumbled out of his mouth. "We can't capture Pikachu. I just want to give up."

Jessie's eyes widened. "Excuse me?"

James bit his lip and grabbed the back of his head. Boy, did it hurt. "I...I mean...it hurts to sit up."

She glared.

"It was a bad landing."

Nobody spoke for a few moments, and eventually Meowth realized he'd have to break the silence.

"We'd better find ou'selves a good place to set up for da rest of da night."

The Team Rocket Trio got themselves together and headed off into the woods.

It didn't take long to start a fire and set up a tent. James sat staring into the flames, thinking about what he'd said earlier. Those twerps are so hard to catch. He thought to himself. How much longer can I do this? Could I do well on my own without Meowth? Could I...even survive without Jessie?

The said woman sat across from him. She too was staring in the crackling flames, yet, didn't look as fierce as usual. The glow from the fire on her face, the twinkle in her eye; those things, he realized, made her look even more beautiful than usual.

James realized his thoughts and turned away quickly. "I don't feel well. I'm going to sleep now." He went away from his friends and zipped himself inside the tent. He laid there, and thought some more, about how he would feel so alone if he left Team Rocket. He just couldn't do it.

But all Meowth and Jessie do was complain about me these days. Do they even care about me at all? Does anyone?

He felt so alone.

And he hated it.

But then, when he opened his eyes again,

He wasn't.

Laying beside him was Jessie, the twinkle still in her eye.

James jumped up in surprise. "What are you-"

"James." The woman began, looking down. "I know this is hard for us. This job."

He looked at her, and blushed as her hand slowly lifted up and floated back down onto his.

"But if we are doing it together, does it really matter? I'd be lonely without you, you know."

He continued looking at her, until her lips met his, and his world turned to stars. He closed his eyes and wanted to never open them again.

When he pulled away, James smiled and laughed a little. "Honestly, I'd been thinking the same thing."

"I figured as much." She said with her usual smirk, now returned in all its glory.

He couldn't give up now.

And he didn't really want to anymore.

I told you it was really dumb but did you listen? No, you're just as obsessed with this ship as me C= C= ┌( ・ω・)┘
