Melinda was unexpectedly late home from the store as she had to crossover yet another ghost. As she drove into the driveway she noticed the lights were off. Strange she thought looking at her watch seeing it was ten o clock. "Jim should be home with Aiden now" she muttered. She calmly got out of the car and slowly walked up to the door, eyeing the house from top to bottom checking for any signs of life as she walked along pathway. As she was about to slot the key in the door she noticed a light had just come on. The door gave out a little squeak as she opened the door. "Hello Melinda" Carl expressed with a serious face. "Carl" Melinda said with annoyed tone as she expected to find Jim waiting for her. "Where's my husband and son?" remarked Melinda. "Oh he's covering a shift….He left a note in the kitchen and Aiden is at Delia's" replied Carl. Melinda starts heading out to the Kitchen with Carl tagging along. "So Carl what do you want" Melinda quizzed him. "You have to be careful the underworld is getting angry again" Carl said. Melinda stops in her tracks and turns around and replies "Why?". "I'm not to sure yet, But I'd be careful if I were you, you know what they're capable of, I'd keep an eye on your loved ones" a worryingly Carl warned Melinda. "So what do I do, Its not like I can lock myself and my family in the house all day, I have a business to run and a husband who needs to work and a son that has to go to school" Melinda replied angrily. Melinda calms down "Look! just find out what they want. Please". " I will try but It wont be easy they know I'm warning you, I don't think they like me talking to you or Aiden." Melinda gazed at a family photo, then turned to Carl "I don't care, I'll do anything to protect my family. Just find out what they want" Just that minuet a car pulls up. "Look I told you I'll try, We'll talk later" Carl disappears. The door opens and Aiden and Jim come in the door. Melinda smiles "There's my two favourite men in my life". "Sorry I had to take Tim's shift" says an apologetic Jim. "Its ok I got your note" leaning in for a kiss. "So Aiden how was your day" Melinda happily asked. "Great Mom!, I had such a fun day at school" a sleepy Aiden replied. "Good" Melinda smiled "Your tired, Go on up to bed your dad or I will be up in a while to tuck you in". As Aiden is slowly going up the stairs Melinda and Jim enter the Kitchen. "I had a visitor just before you came in". "Who?" replied Jim. "Carl" Melinda revealed. "I will go up to tuck in Aiden and you can tell me about it then, Love you" then before leaving her side Jim gives Melinda a kiss. As Jim is walking away Melinda whispers "I love you too" staring into space thinking how lucky she was.
