I do not own The Lion King or its characters. They belong to Walt Disney Studios, this was written strictly for fun.
The sun rises in the African savannah,
its rays as far as can be seen,
the clear, pure rivers flow gently
through the fresh morning grass green.
From a mighty rock tall and proud
emerge a lion and a lioness,
who have been through much violent and loud,
but that doesn't make this morning beauty any less.
The lion was once a rogue outsider,
and the lioness an overprotected princess,
but after a fierce battle of death,
the two have been at last blessed.
They saved the lives of their families,
and in return gave their consent
to be united in eternal marriage
in which one could never make a dent.
The two lovers fondly remember the day
as if it were only a moment ago;
the morning air was warm and soothing,
and the soft breeze never ceased to blow.
They recall how they stood by one another
closely and as happy as could be,
and by the consent of the king,
their bond became official for all to see.
The moment it happened, their hearts were pounding,
the lioness leaning against the lion's warm fur,
and in that instant they both knew,
they were at last united as they hoped they were.
Tender happiness filled the warm summer air
as the lioness's mother and father were there,
for at last they had found
their new heir.
The lovers recalled happily
how they walked to the rock's edge.
and looked triumphantly upon the kingdom
that lay just beyond the ledge.
The sight was breathtaking and majestic,
seeing the kingdom dwellers cheer them on,
and they roared powerfully and clearly,
for the two had at last completed their bond.
They stood side by side on the edge
touching each other with passionate love,
as they roared once more in victory
more passionate than any turtle doves.
This day was some time ago,
but the lion and the lioness would treasure it forever
almost as much as they valued each other
and they leaned in closer in a moment that they wished wouldn't end ever.
And as their muzzled pressed upon one another
against the gentle sunrise,
the lioness's father and king looked out to them with happiness,
knowing his daughter would be eternally happy in each other's eyes.
