So, welcome to the Prologue to a story I hope I can finish in a fair amount of time.

The story is modern-day, but not present. None of the story takes place in present day, but all in the past.

For now, this will be a clean story for most of the chapters, except for the occassional curse.

Well, enjoy.

In the mountains, sits a cottage near the peak of the tallest mountains. The peak is known as the Point of Eris, or Heaven's Needle because it was said to be a gateway into Heaven.

It was mid-winter, late night, almost morning. It had stopped snowing just moments ago, so there was a fresh layer of snow on the ground. Someone was walking along a path in the snow, on the side of the mountain, towards the before mentioned cottage. The person was a shepherd, and they were wearing a heavy, wool cloak to protect themselves from the cold and wind. They laughed a bit as they entered the grounds of the cottage.

The shepherd walks over to a giant goat, the size of an elephant, and sits by it. It is just before sunrise. They pull an old lantern out of their jacket, as well as what looks like a globe. They hold the lantern near the globe, watching as the globe rotates slowly on its own. They slipped the globe back into their jacket after a moment and held the lantern in their lap, and the sun began to rise.

The shepherd smiled as he watched the sunrise, leaning against the sleeping goat. "Been such a long trip, old friend... The places we've been, the people we've met." They laughed a bit. "I suppose I should go over those years." They smiled running their fingers through the goat's fur then buried their face into it a bit.

"Eleven years... Up to this point in my life... So much travel..." They closed his eyes. "I remember them so well, like they were just this week." They smiled. "Time to revist those places, and relive the memories." Their voice trailed off into the morning breeze.
