This is a novelization of the part where the Joker shoves a guy into a pencil...told from the Bodyguards point-of-view.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't have my boy here pull your head off." Gambol growled, gesturing to his bodyguard. The bodyguard looked tough, but he did not like the look of the clown that had just appeared.

"How about a magic trick?" The intruder offered in a playful tone. He drew a pencil from his suit jacket and slammed it into the table hard enough for it to stand on its own. "I'm going to make this pencil disappear."

Gambol gestured to his bodyguard to move in and take care of the problem. Acting tough, the guard began to step towards the madman. Two feet away… one foot away… the man's scars became hideously clear, a wretched, twisted smile smeared in red lipstick. Suddenly, all of the details became a blur as the intruder lunged forward and grabbed the guard's head.

The guard had no time to react, no time to think – he could only feel his head being shoved downwards. There was a split second of searing pain, the feeling of something speeding through flesh and bone, and then eternal darkness. One victorious cackle was the last thing he heard.
