Summary: In Korea, it helps to have a friend.
You can't possibly know how special you are to me. Perhaps that's because I've never told you. I will one day, just not yet.
I've been here for almost a year now with you and still every day I'm amazed by your strength of character. Every day more wounded pour in and you treat them all with the same passion for medicine you always have done. You're professional, always taking the harder cases from Frank when you know he can't deal with them, even if it means losing a part of yourself.
And don't think I haven't noticed that. Although you're strong every day you loose a little part of yourself, the emotional scars chipping away at your sanity. If it were any other man he'd let them take him, but you keep on fighting them. You refuse to let them take hold as long as you can make a difference.
You always do make one. That's one of the things I love about you most.
Even though we're all scarred over here you manage to keep everyone in high spirits with your pranks and jokes on others, and just by being you. That's how you keep me sane, by freeing my mind of the horrors of Korea and doing something childish and silly. Putting other people before yourself is something you do regularly, especially for me. Sure, you say I've done the same for you, but it's not quite the same. You've kept me sane, and by doing that I've managed to do the same to you.
But I couldn't have kept up my part of the bargain if you hadn't kept up yours. That's why you're special to me. You're amazing.
You've made me into the person I am. And I love you for it.
