Sakura

By: Hitokiri Gentatsu

A/N: Just a poem I wrote after finishing the Seisou Hen. If you have not had a chance to see this closing chapter of the Rurouni Kenshin saga, I highly recommend you do. It's very powerful and moving. As for the lack of punctuation here…My poetry tends toward very little of that and this may contain spoilers for the end of the Seisou Hen. You have been warned. Please do read and review. Let me know if this is any good and if you can guess who is speaking here. Arigatou!

Seisou Hen: Part Two

Sakura  blooms for an instant

Translucent, fragile, momentary

As life

Life is but an instant in time

Only a memory

Ebbing and flowing on the tide

Faded…fading

A memory lost

A spirit receding into final darkness

A life cut down in its prime

Much like the sakura falling

Ere it fades

They fall around me

And I, with them.
