Chapter 1: The Phoenix Reborn
600 years ago, the Pirate Age fell apart. Crews split up, Mutinies where performed, and land was converged into one large continent and several island chains by glorious battles with those blessed with Cursed Fruit powers. These powers could only be obtained by eating a Devil Fruit. Also commonly called a Cursed Fruit. These fruits could grant the eater the ability to manipulate fire, water and another of other elements. Sub classes of fruits could also give the user the ability to manipulate their body like the infamous Captain Buggy and his Chop Chop powers. There where also Fruits that gave their eaters the ability to transform. One of the most famous was Captain Marco "The Phoenix" Uzumaki. His "Phoenix Phoenix" powers gave him the ability to transform into a mystical phoenix with bright blue and yellow flames. He also could manipulate his Phoenix Fire outside his phoenix form. And even fly using his wings without transforming fully. He truly was a magnificent fighter. When the Pirate Age ended, he founded the Village Hidden in the Whirlpool and became the first Uzukage. He also founded the Uzumaki Clan which grew and grew from those who accepted the Fire of the Phoenix in their hearts.
And now, his last living descendant will awaken that sacred fire.
Naruto Uzumaki was rushing through the forest in Konoha. Why? Because his one of the sensei's at the Konoha Ninja Academy had told him a secret way to becoming Genin. Steal the Forbidden Scroll of Sealing from the Hokage's vault. Said Sensei then told him why everyone hates him in his village. He was the container of the Kyuubi no Kitsune. A demon fox with nine tails that nearly destroyed the village ten years ago.
Suddenly, he was in a room with a statue of a magnificent bird of some kind.
"What the heck?" Naruto asked out loud as he looked around. "Where am I?"
"Naruto Uzumaki. Direct descendant of Marco "The Phoenix" Uzumaki." Said a deep voice.
"Whose there?" Naruto demanded as he looked left and right again. Suddenly alert.
"You have awakened your true potential. ACCEPT YOUR GIFT!" The voice demanded as Naruto was enveloped in bright blue and yellow flames.
In the outside world, Iruka and Mizuki watched in awe as Naruto was engulfed in bright blue and yellow flames. When they disappeared, Naruto had a new fire in his eyes. "If you ever, hurt my sensei. I'LL KILL YOU." He glared at Mizuki with such enmity that Mizuki shuddered.
"LET'S SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO NINE TAILED FOX!" Mizuki shouted with insanity in his voice.
"Just try me you fool. I'll give it back to you a thousand fold." Naruto said with a glare as he crossed his fore and index fingers on both hands. "SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!" He shouted and a thousand Naruto's burst onto the scene.
Those aren't just illusins! Their solid clones! He's mastered an extremely advanced jutsu in just a few short hours! Iruka thought proudly.
Mizuki was stunned. The brat couldn't pull off a simple clone jutsu but he could do this?
"If your not coming." One said.
"Then we're gonna come after you!" All held up their hands including the original Naruto. Bright blue/yellow flames appeared as fireballs in their hands.
"THOUSAND PHEONIX BURST!" They all shouted and threw their fireballs at mizuki. He was engulfed in phoenix fire and he disentigrated into ashes.
What incredible power. Phoenix? What's that about?" Iruka wondered.
"Naruto. Close your eyes." Iruka said when the Naruto's poofed out of existence after the flames died out and all that was left of Mizuki was the scorched metal part of his headband.
Naruto looked hesitant, but closed his eyes. Iruka placed his headband on Naruto. Naruto opened his eyes after feeling Iruka give him his headband. "Congratulations. You graduate.

My newest plot bunny. Btw, Naruto is related to Marco through Biwako Uzumaki. He's Asuma's and Minato's son. Yes this is post M-preg. The villagers see him as the bastard son of Asuma and not part of the Sarutobi clan and in doing so treat him as an outcast still.
