*A/N Wow, it's been a VERY LONG time since I've written a fic in the Child's Play universe or ever really, it feels good to be back. I just got back into the fandom after a long hiatus. Anyways, this is supposed to be an accurate time piece, I've been doing research. If you would like to be my proofreader please PM me, I'm still a little rusty at writing fanfics, please R&R!*
Let This Be Real
Chapter 1. Meeting Tiffany
It was a cool, crisp fall morning, the year was 1967. The Vietnam War was in full bloom, there were race wars, it was supposed to be the Summer of Love, but Chucky didn't get that. Times were tough and the only escape for most people from the harsh reality was drinking, music, sex, and drugs. The only thing on Chucky's mind was on getting the hell out of high school and doing something else with his life. He wasn't sure what that was, but he knew he wanted out of school and as soon as possible.
Chucky and his best friend Eddie of almost eight years sat in the middle of the classroom, assholes surrounded them. The jocks, the cheerleaders, and people that thought they were weird. Chucky didn't give a shit anymore what people thought of him, he was used to it all. Chucky was ready to get out of the hellhole called "school".
The final bell soon rang with a shrill sound meaning that class would soon begin. "Good morning class, I hope that you all read chapter sixteen about 'The Declaration of Independence' last night? Isn't that right Mr. Ray?" Said the teacher.
Chucky only stared out of the window, he wanted to be anywhere but in the shitty classroom full of the scum of the Earth. "Mr. Ray, are you even paying attention?" Chucky soon snapped from his daydream and looked at the teacher ,"Uh yes, Mrs. Babbitt, I read it." Then somebody whispered "Square" under their breath. Chucky only ignored it, he was used to being called names.
"Good, now please pay attention Charles, you will need to know this when you get out of high school." Mrs. Babbitt said as she turned to the chalk board to write. "I don't think we're gonna need this dumb shit when we get out." Eddie whispered. Chucky only smiled. Eddie's plan was to join the military like his old man and make him proud, but in reality Eddie wasn't qualified, he did drugs, drank, and had sex with anything with two legs and breasts.
Next a paper ball hit the back of Chucky's head and landed on the floor. Chucky turned around and glared at the culprit. He was the quarterback of the football team, his name was Matthew Michael, and he bullied Chucky and Eddie since grade school. "What are you looking at nerd?" Matthew said.
"I don't know why don't you ask me?" Matthew's face soon twisted into anger "That's it you and me after school, back of the school, your ass is grass Ray." Matthew whispered. Next, a knock came from the door, all of the students looked at the door and Mrs. Babbitt walked to the door to open it. "Ah Principal Lester what a surprise!" "Looks like you have a new student to your class, this is Tiffany Valentine, she's from Lockport, New York." Principal Lester informed.
"Okay, thank you Principal Lester." Mrs. Babbitt soon brought in a young petite girl with long raven hair, brown eyes, a small beauty mark above her lip, and curves in all the right places. Her makeup was light and airy. She wore a button up blouse with a knee length skirt with some black short heeled pumps. Chucky took one look at her and he was smitten.
He had never seen a girl as beautiful as her, but he knew he couldn't have her, Matthew would soon swoop in and ask her out, Chucky dismissed the thought of Tiffany, it would never happen. "Class, this is Tiffany Valentine, she's new here at Hackensack High, so let's make her feel welcome, so Tiffany tell the class a little bit about yourself."
"My name is Tiffany Valentine, I'm from Lockport, New York, I guess that's all, there's really not that much to know about me." Tiffany said. "Well, we're pleased to have you here, please have a seat in one of the empty desks" Tiffany saw a desk catacornered to Chucky's. She saw the boy with the icy blue eyes and soon felt her heart beat get louder and her face flush. He was very attractive, but he probably had a girlfriend.
Tiffany walked past Chucky, he looked up and she smiled at him. Tiffany sat in the empty desk and Chucky caught a whiff of her perfume, it was a nice floral fragrance, but not too strong where it could take your breath away. He had to get these thoughts out of his head, there was no way he was talking to Tiffany. All he wanted was to get through school as painless a possible.
Tiffany wished that the boy with the shoulder length auburn hair would notice her, but maybe she had to make the first move, which was something her mother told her to never do. But Tiffany rebelled and she leaned over and tapped Chucky on the shoulder only making him flinch a little. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, I was just wondering where French three would be at, I have that next period."
"It's cool, uh, actually I have French three next period also, I'll show you where it's at." Chucky replied. "Thank you so much you're a lifesaver, by the the way what's your name?" "It's Charles, but my friends call me Chucky for short." Chucky responded Chucky didn't want to take it any further than that, he would show her where the next class would be and that would be it, nothing more and nothing less.
The class was over as soon as it started and the young adults soon rose from their seats as the bell rang. "Remember nerd after school behind the school." Matthew said as he laughed and walked away from Chucky. "What the hell is wrong with that guy?" Tiffany said making Chucky jump a little.
"Don't worry about it." Chucky replied. Tiffany was worried for her new acquaintance safety, but her thoughts were soon directed to Eddie. "So what classes you got?" Tiffany handed him the schedule and he skimmed over it, "Ehhh French three, shit, shit, useless shit, damn Chuck, she has a good bit of classes with you, maybe you could show her around." Eddie said with a smile.
On the inside Chucky was excited, but he had to rid his thoughts of being with Tiffany, he wouldn't be with her, they probably wouldn't even talk to one another after today. So he dismissed the feeling. "Hey, instead of going to your stupid French class, let's just skip it and hang out and get to know our new friend and show her around the school on our own." Eddie said.
"Yeah, man let's get out of here, this place is a fucking drag, Tiffany you can come if you want, but if you don't I'll show you where French is at." "No, you're right, this place is a drag," Tiffany responded. Chucky was taken by surprise at how Tiffany did a complete 180 from a stuck up primp and proper that first entered the classroom.
"Well, it looks like we're all going to get along real good here, I guess you're one of us now." Eddie said with a smile. And this made Chucky happy on the inside, there was a girl who wasn't disgusted by him and who actually wanted to be around him.
