Chapter 1

She looks in the mirror, where there used to be a girl full of hope and energy. A starry-eyed girl with so many dreams, but the dreams burned away like a fire on a cold, unforgiving, and quiet night. *crack* There goes one dream. *snap*-*crack* There go the rest. The dreams fall into the debris and ashes of what was, once beautiful, is now dead and gray.

She gets off the couch and walks down the haunting hallway where she used to have so many happy memories. She goes to her empty room and quietly closes the door. She slowly lowers herself onto her bed and wonders who could ever love someone so broken like her. A tear slowly slides down her face so much happened in so little time. She sits in her lonely room on her unmade bed and sobs till she has no more tears to shed. The girl that used to be there will never come back. Her dreams will never come back either. Her friends say "Don't worry. It will get better!" "But when?" she wonders. "When will it get better? Right now, all that I feel is pain." What she once had will never come back.

She sits in the noisy classroom while everyone was gossiping about all the drama that's going on. She hopes she won't get dragged into it all. She has too much going on in her own life to be pulled into others. The bell rings like an alarm warning her to get ready to go home and fight the emptiness in her life. She walks down the hallway wishing time could slow down. She shuffles over to the table her friends sit at but is disappointed to find that they are on their phones. She pulls out her black phone with matching ear buds and tries to block out the nasty world out of her head.

Her mom's white Odyssey van pulls up in front of the almost empty school. She grabs her heavy backpack, which feels like it's full of bricks and climbs into the van. Her mom asks how her day went. She replies the same every time. "It was fine." She goes home slowly and shuffles to her room and closes the door. She sits and listens to her music while thinking. "Will anything ever change?"

Her life feels so empty. Everything she thought was real was all a lie. Her trust is shattered just like a mirror. Her world shattered into a million pieces. She tries ot stay positive but everything she does crashes down around her. *crash* A wave falls down on her faith in herself starts to break like a sand castle against water. She thinks about how happy she used to be compared to now. All she is now is a depressed and upset.

I'm going to interrupt this chapter and give you a back round of what happened to her before she got depressed and sad. You'll find out later in chapter two.
