She withheld the gasp that was close to escaping her mouth when she saw him. She knew it was stupid. What she did just to be able to be near him. His touch. But she was just so consistence on it, subconsciously or not. She needed to see him. Talk to him. Just be with him.
Her imprint.
A vampire.
A married vampire.
The doctor took everything from her. From when she first saw him after phasing. Everything changed. Maybe he knows, she tells herself as she sees him come in, smiling that smile that makes her go crazy. Maybe the mind reading one told all of them and had a laugh. He has a wife, Leah. Kids, too.
She tried to tell herself reasons to stop her hormones from taking over her body and pouncing on him.
He puts the clip board down and gives her that smile again. "How'd you do that to your arm, Leah?"
She smiles at him, "Being a wolf is a always giving me injuries."
He looked genuinely concern. Of course he does, Leah! He's your doctor. He's the nicest vamp. Like.. His wife..
"You got into a fight? With a vampire or a pack brother?"
He's now looking at her left arm, making sure he put the bones in the right places. "I fell out of my window."
He lookes at her, "What?"
She tries not to blush, "I was jumping out, to phase at the same time. But I messed up and landed on my arm weird."
He lookes like it relieved him, knowing she didn't get into a fight. He's your doctor, of course he's relieved, Leah.
She bit her lip and lookes at him, "Dr. Cullen?"
He smiles at her, "Yes, Leah?"
She takes a breath, "My ribs.. They kind of hurt, too."
He ran his hands along the base of her left breast. She noticed there was something different in his eyes. She didn't say a thing until his hand was touching the bottom swell of her breast. She gaspes, when she feels him. "Does it hurt?"
She lookes back at him, their eyes locking, "No.." She whispers, still looking at him. She thinks he knows because there definitely something different. She doesn't know, but she was driving him slightly crazy.
This was all wrong. But they felt it was right. So her lips were on his in a matter of seconds. Its soft, and nice. And he doesn't pull back. She does pull back when she needs oxygen.
He's looking at her, with his forehead on hers, "Edward told me. He usually doesn't speak of anyone's mind to us. But Alice had been seeing me fade in and out."
"Your wife.." She still whispers. Hoping she doesn't scare him away. She doesn't want this to end.
"She understands. Alice had said she was going to meet her new mate. Around two days ago, he came. The divorce was official this morning."
And she smiles, and he smiles back. Because this is the way they were meant to be.
