I was running out of breath as I ran through the dark, cold forest. My sweater was ripped so bad that it didn't even look like a sweater anymore. My shoes were muddy as were my jeans, which had little tears at the bottom. My shirt had droplets of blood splattered. My arm was throbbing in pain from the horrible bite even though I wrapped it up with a piece of cloth of my sweater and tried to clean it out while fastening it securely. I could hear him coming closer, a dangerous creature. Too busy concentrating on out-running him, I didn't pay attention on where I was running and tripped over a tree root. I tried to get up as fast as I could, ignoring the pain of new cuts and forming bruises, but I was too slow.

"Got you." I heard him whisper in my ear, his arms wrapped around my torso. I was too terrified to make a noise. I clenched my eyes tight as I felt him pull me up in a standing position, but keeping me close to him. I stayed stock-still, my arms positioned stiffly at my sides. He ignored my posture as he ran his nose along my jaw, sniffing me. I opened my eyes and caught his red ones. He stopped his movements and looked at me directly. I begged him silently with my eyes.

"Bella, Bella, Bella..." he tsked before he snuggled his face in the crook of my neck.

A pathetic whimper escaped my lips. Tears were welling up in my eyes as I looked up at the night sky.

"Don't." I whispered so low I barely heard myself. He pulled away to look into my eyes again. He gave me an evil grin, his teeth glistening inhumanly in the moonlight.

"Don't." I repeated with the same tone as before.

"You need to learn the reason as to why you don't take a walk in the woods at night. There's always some dangerous creatures lurking around, waiting for a snack stupid enough to show up." his velvet voice reached my ears. He returned his face to my neck. I lifted my arms up slowly.

"No!" I shouted out as I shoved him away. He stumbled backwards, towards the ground, shock written over his face. I quickly bolted away from him.

"Bella!" I heard him scream in frustration and anger. I kept on running, my hair matted in mud sticking to my face. This time I was focusing on where I was running and how fast I was going.

I saw a break in the trees a few minutes later: the exit. I grinned happily and forced my sore limbs to go faster. When I was a few feet from the exit, two hands came down on my shoulders, pulling me back roughly. I screamed in terror.

*peeks out from behind a wall* hi. so, this is a one shot I did for a contest earlier this year... I wrote it on paper and then typed it at the computer lab at school real quick during my lunch break. And I forgot to upload it to the contest website. Sigh. Can this keep you guys tamed for a bit longer while I revise and write my stories?
