Sometimes you would wonder what would happen if you had one of the most powerful Youkai as your mother. These events are linked by a series of love affairs. As if you would think, who would you choose as a lover? Would your parents allow it? These are the questions the 500 year old Youkai Nigel Okami asked himself every night before he goes to sleep.
"Hey, Mom, pass me the chicken!" Sitting down at the dinner table with his mom, Nigel tried to reach for the chicken over on the other side of the table.
"Wait till I pass it over to you!" The Flower Youkai, Yuuka, was refusing to pass the chicken until Nigel sat down.
"Fine..." He sat back down in his seat, and Yuuka passed the chicken over to him. He took the heart and the wings of the chicken, and ate them whole, paying no attention to the bones.
Nobody ever suspected Yuuka of having a kid, no. They thought Nigel was just a stray living out in the forest. But the next morning, everybody's personal opinion of him would change dramaticly.
Nigel got out of bed and got ready to go to the Human Village to pick up supplies for some of his clothes he liked to make for others. He also had to pick up groceries for home. When he got all dressed, he headed out without saying a word.
Despite him being 500 years old, he looks like he's 18 human years old. Everyone he passed in the village just said hi, or greeted him with a smile. As usual, the tengu reporter was out trying to get some scoops, and the gardener of the Netherworld, Youmu Konpaku, was out buying food for Yuyuko.
Nigel decided to help Youmu out with her shopping, since she usually has to carry about 20 bags of food, which is a lot, even with her ghost-half helping her.
"Oh, hello there, Nigel." Youmu greeted Nigel with a faint smile when he came over to her.
"Do you need any help with grocery shopping?" Nigel looked at both her ghost-half and her human-half.
"That would be a great help, thanks." She walked off toward the food section of the store, and both her ghost-half and Nigel followed her.
Nigel grabbed a shopping cart from one of the racks.
"What's that?" Youmu looked at Nigel in confusion, while her ghost-half just slid into the cart and layed down inside it.
"It's a shopping cart. You put food and other things in it." Youmu looked at Nigel in surprise.
"You mean, that it carries food and you don't have to come back for multiple loads of food?" She stared at the shopping cart.
"That's what one of the humans said to me." Nigel picked up Youmu's ghost-half out of the shopping cart and rubbed it's head. Youmu seemed to be feeling the rubbing as well.
"Oh. That's what I thought." Youmu smiled deeply as Nigel continued to rub her ghost-half. Nigel let go of her ghost-half after that and let it float back to her. Youmu took it and rested it in her arms. "And by the way, you can just call my ghost-half Myon." Youmu let out a deep sigh, and let go of Myon, taking hold of the shopping cart.
Nigel followed her as she walked through the store, picking out various food items such as cucumber rolls, to something simplier like a cherry pie.
"Ok, that will be... 100,000 mon...?!" The shopkeeper looked at both of them in disbelief. Youmu reluctantly handed the shopkeeper the 100,000 mon. Youmu sighed as she reached into her pockets and found no more.
"Guess I'm out of money." Youmu rubbed her head. Nigel reached into his pocket and took out a 10,000 mon bill.
"I still have some left." Nigel showed Youmu the 10,000 mon.
"Where shall we go to spend it?" Youmu looked at Nigel. Myon just rubbed against Nigel.
