This is a small songfic for the chapter The End in New Moon. I've had this idea in my head for a while and I finally have a chance to get it down.

"You…don't…want me?"

"No."

Those words hurt horribly. She just wanted to forget everything and run away with him, but…he didn't want her.

He didn't want her.

And now the stars aren't out tonight,
But neither are we to look up at them

These memories can't replace,
These wishes I wished and dreams I chased

"Take care of yourself."

She followed him, hoping to stop him. But it was impossible. She knew that. She laid there on the ground, staring into darkness.

There were no stars, no moon. No…there was a moon.

A new moon.

He promised. He promised he would stay with her.

"As long as that was best for you,"

Forever. That's what was best for her.

But now he was gone. And he was never coming back.

She shuddered as the rain started to beat down on her. It didn't matter.

Nothing mattered anymore.

She was being carried…Carried back home.

"She just keeps saying 'He's gone.'"

She had said that out loud. But it was the truth. He was gone. No matter how much she begged him not to leave her.

"How could she believe me? After all the thousand times I've told her I loved her, how could she let one word break her faith in me?"

He was angry. He never dreamed she would believe him so easily. It pained him to know that she truly believed he did not love her.

She had made the regret of lying so much harder for him.

She stumbled up to her room and hastily looked in her CD player.

It wasn't there.

She turned to find the album where she'd left it. She slowly opened it to find the first page blank.

He took everything that would be proof he existed away.

She had nothing.

She slowly fell to the floor, but not losing consciousness. Her breathing became ragged. She closed her eyes. The pain pulling her under.

She would not resurface.

I'll fall asleep tonight, 'cause that brings me closer to you…

Another hard one for me to write, but, again, I'm proud of it. As usual, please review.
