Tamaki sauntered into the music room, immediately greeted by Takashi [Mori], Mitskuni [Hunny], Hikaru & Kaoru [The Twins], and Haruhi, all dressed in Alice in Wonderland cosplay. Today was their last nighttime practice before the performance on Friday, but the club would skip their Thursday classes to be sure they were ready.
"Where's Kyoya? We can't practice without the Mad Hatter." Tamaki asked in his state-the-obvious way.
"He's having trouble—"
"With his hat. He'll be—"
"Here later." The twins had a tendency to finish each other's thoughts & sentences.
Just then, Kyoya came into the room, falling into one of the many luxurious chairs.
"Now that everyone is here, let's go outside and get started!" Haruhi was adorable in her pale blue knee-length dress, white petticoats, white knee socks and white lolita style shoes.
Out in the courtyard of the prestigious Ouran High, the fountains spilled soft streams of water glittering in the light from the full moon. Hunny held his pink plushie "Usa-Chan" over his head running and making airplane sound effects.
"Mitskuni! We need to practice, come here now." Mori had a deep voice, most unsuitable for the white rabbit, but that wasn't the only difference in the Host Club's wonderland.
Finally, the practice began, and after a few scenes, 'Alice' walked through the courtyard, not noticing the two purple Cheshire Kittens behind her.
"Curioser and Curioser" she murmered, meaning the strange transformation of the school, with rose beds and playing cards decorating the pathway.
"Curioser!"
"And curioser!"
The two kittens pounced on Alice, giggling like school girls.
"What are you doing?!" Alice was right to be confused, this wasn't in the script. Words whispered in her ear explained that "Kaoru loves you, Hikaru is just making his confession easier."
Kyoya, being the only other person paying attention, decided that this was a problem that required ending the practice early. Tamaki looked up, Hikaru had left Kaoru and Haruhi alone moments before, and the girl in petticoats asked the kitten in purple to drive her home. Being the jealous creature he is, Tamaki ran up to offer Haruhi a ride to her apartment. "That's kind of you, Tamaki," Haruhi smiled sweetly, "but Kaoru says he can drive me."
More than a little depressed, Tamaki stretched out on his bed with a rose thorn, singing under his breath "I scratch your sweet name, right into my skin, you left me bleeding, but I couldn't give in…" He slept that night with ice tinted tears slipping from his eyes, and crimson blood dripping from the letters on his wrist. The full moon reflected light off of his window, spreading a rainbow across the boy's face.
