Hey guys, this is my first Fruits Basket fanfic! A kitsune- in case you don't know- is a Japanese demon fox with multiple tails and magical powers.
I don't own Fruits Basket but Akane is my own character.
Kitsune Sohma Chapter 1- The Zodiac Myth
Once upon a time...
God told the 12 animals that he was going to have a great banquet tomorrow, where the animals could feast until morning. Since the Cat hadn't arrived for the announcement, the Rat offered to tell him.
The Kitsune watched from the side. None of the animals liked the Kitsune, they thought she was evil and would curse them. God hated the Kitsune for her mischief and troublecausing and had told the Kitsune not to take part in the banquet, since she was not welcome.
The Rat decided to trick the Cat, and told him the banquet was the day after tomorrow instead. The Cat believed him and decided to sleep in the next day.
When it came to the day of the banquet, the animals began to make their way to God's palace. The Kitsune watched them go, and when they were far enough away, she followed them steadily.
One by one, the animals arrived, the Rat rode on the back of the Ox and then ran ahead to arrive first, followed by the Ox. Then came the Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Boar. Everyone thought that no one else was coming, until the Kitsune loped through the gates.
God was enraged and took away the Kitsune's power, locking it deep within the scared fox. With her power went eight of the fox's nine long tails. The other animals laughed and jeered.
The fox left the palace in despair, and promised to secure her power after being reincarnated nine times. She used the remains of her lost power to curse the Zodiac animals and the God so they would be reincarnated too, and witness her in her glory as she destroyed them.
Short chapter, but what the hey. Keep an eye out for the next chapter!
