Please note: I gave Neji Hinata's jutsu because I couldn't find a suitable one for him.
Two shinobi. Two deadly jutsu.
"Rasengan!"
"Twin lion fist!"
People screaming. Screaming for them to stop, yet none willing to step in.
They charged, each kicking up dust, aiming to blind their opponent. Neither see a slim figure slip into the fray.
Both feel their techniques meet flesh, they both push further, expending more chakra until they have the satisfaction of hearing a scream from their targets.
"Naruto!"
But the voice is wrong. Both know their techniques made contact, yet neither possess a voice of that pitch.
The dust clears.
Between the two shinobi, a kunoichi stands. Her hands still readying for rotation. Red marks show chakra points blocked. Two on Neji, two on Naruto.
She feels herself go limp and two pairs of arms reach out to catch her.
A pink-haired medic sprints forward from the crowd, shoving aside the gawking bystanders. "Hinata!"
Her hands fly to the most obvious injuries, instinctively summoning up her chakra in a desperate attempt to heal Hinata.
"B-But..." Naruto is still in visible shock, "She blocked our chakra points. The attacks shouldn't be so effective. She will survive right Sakura? Right?"
Sakura does not answer. Her eyebrows are furrowed in concentration, and sweat is running down her face from exertion.
"Naruto," Neji's voice is strained as he watches his cousin on the brink of death, "My attack forced her backward into your attack, while your attack threw her into mine. There is no way she could survive this."
"Don't say that, there's still hope, isn't there Sakura? Tell Neji!"
There is no response.
Naruto's tears stream unbidden down his face, his eyes filled with guilt and pain.
"How can you just sit there? Don't you care about Hinata at all? You bastard!"
Neji slowly raises his face and Naruto catches a glimpse of similar rivers flowing down Neji's pale face. He won't say it, but he does care. He cares about the girl who has remained friendly no matter how much he abused her. He cares about his superior, his cousin, his friend.
"N-Naruto-kun," Hinata's own blood impedes her from speaking and she coughs several times, struggling to stay conscious, "Naruto-k-kun, I-I love you,"
"I love you too, Hinata."
But Hinata never hears his response. She will never hear anything again. Not the sobs of those close to her. Not the screams of grief. Not the hiss of a kunai as Naruto slashes his wrist. Not the thump of Naruto's body as he slumps next to her, all will to live gone.
So, I'm thinking of adding one more chapter to this, what do you guys think?
Hope you enjoyed it
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto
